Annual vignette only — there is no 1-day or 10-day pass. It covers motorways and expressways (A/N). Main, cantonal and local roads are free.

Official 2026 price: CHF 40 (digital or sticker) for cars. Trucks >3.5 t pay more. Do not treat reseller euro quotes as the official tariff.

Valid until 31 January of the following year (actual use is 2–14 months depending on the start date).

Digital e-vignette (plate in the system) or a physical windshield sticker stuck top-left inside the glass. A loose sticker in the cabin counts as no vignette.

Official shop: via.admin.ch/shop or e-vignette.ch (FOCBS / BAZG, also ezv.admin.ch). Also sold at the border, petrol stations and post offices.

Fine: 200 CHF (~€205) plus you must still buy a vignette to continue. Even a short slip onto a paid road without one is an offence. Same for Swiss and foreign plates.

Extra tunnels, not in the vignette: Great St Bernard (CH–IT) from 1 Feb 2026 Class A2 car one way €33.50 / CHF 32, return within 30 days €53.50 / CHF 51. Munt la Schera (Engadin–Livigno) is a separate ticket. Official: letunnel.com and tunnelticket.ch.

Speed limits for cars: motorway 120 / express 100 / rural 80 / urban 50.

Dipped beam 24/7. Green Card required for foreign and UA-registered cars. No UA exemption.

Alcohol 0.5‰ (stricter for novices). Studs 1 Nov–30 Apr on all wheels, banned on motorways, max 80 km/h.
