Moldova
Planning a trip to Moldova? On this page you will find information about motorway vignettes, toll payment methods and rules for driving on paid roads.
Driving on the road
e-Vinieta is mandatory for vehicles registered outside Moldova — on almost the entire public road network, not just motorways. Transit still needs it.
Digital only: the plate is written into the state database. Checks at borders and on the road. One vignette covers the whole public network for its validity — no extra bridges or tunnels.
Official e-Vinieta for foreign plates (cars): 7 days €4; 15 days €8; 30 days €16; 90 days €45; 180 days €85; over 180 days €180 per consecutive 180-day block. Reseller quotes around €10 / €16 / €24 are more than double the official tariff.
Buy before the border at the official shop evinieta.gov.md. Keep the e-receipt; no printout is required.
Driving without a vignette is fined; paying the fine does not replace buying a vignette. Confirm the current penalty on official Moldovan pages before you quote a figure.
A plate typo makes the pass invalid. Most checkouts cannot edit data after payment and do not refund a wrong plate.
Speed limits for cars: motorway/express 110 / rural 90 / urban 50.
Green Card covering Moldova is required for foreign plates, including UA-registered cars.
Alcohol 0.3‰. Dipped beam or DRL 1 Nov–31 Mar. Winter tyres 1 Dec–1 Mar in winter conditions.
Very common UA ↔ Romania transit corridor. A 7-day pass is usually enough if you are only crossing.
