During the IFA trade show in Berlin, Xiaomi announced agreements with eight German dealership networks. This indicates that Xiaomi will definitely start selling in Germany by 2027. Based on current hints, the first model to enter the market will likely be the Xiaomi YU7 GT, the most expensive version of the Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV, often referred to as the “Ferrari Mi.” There are also speculations about plug-in hybrid models from the SkyNomad series.

Xiaomi car models and prices [speculations]

Xiaomi has preliminarily selected the following partners in Germany (the list comes from an official announcement; we researched the regions of operation on our own):

Ernst Dello GmbH & Co. KG – Germany, mainly northern and eastern regions (source),

Autohaus Dinnebier GmbH – Germany, Brandenburg,

Emil Frey Germany – Germany, but as Emil Grey Group also Switzerland (headquarters), Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and smaller countries,

Fett & Wirtz Automobile GmbH & Co. KG – Germany, Rhineland,

Hahn Automobile GmbH + Co. KG – Germany, Baden-Württemberg

LUEG Mobility GmbH – Germany (operates in Poland under the WAS Group),

Penske-Jacobs Innovation GmbH – Germany, but Penske Automotive Group is a larger network based in the United States,

SPT Avior SE & Co. KG – Germany, northern region.

Based on the maps, the dealer networks were selected based on the number of locations in specific federal states, so that Xiaomi could establish a presence wherever there was sales potential. Xiaomi itself also emphasized the importance of companies’ experience “in other parts of Europe” as well as dealers’ skills in selling and servicing premium brands (such as BMW, Porsche, Mercedes). After all, we are talking about agreements and letters of intent, not concrete contracts.

The initial hints in the official announcement suggested that Xiaomi’s own electric SUV, the YU7 GT, might arrive in Europe first. However, Xiaomi had to observe carefully that the Old Continent was slow to adopt electric vehicles and welcomed gasoline-powered models (including hybrids) more readily. As a result, it is now said that alongside the Xiaomi YU7, one or both of Xiaomi’s SkyNomad models—the larger N90 and the slightly smaller N70—will also be available. The teaser images also feature the model that started it all: the Xiaomi SU7.

Selecting dealers and positioning alongside premium brands is a well-established strategy for Xiaomi. Therefore, one should not expect the prices of the Xiaomi YU7 or SU7 to match those in China (illustration above: Xiaomi YU7 starting at 233,500 yuan, equivalent to 129,200 zł). Additionally, the company plans to launch with its most expensive models. Considering that the Xiaomi YU7 GT starts at 389,900 yuan in China and applying the typical conversion rate used by European distributors (1:1:28), we get approximately 499,000 zł.
