Agata stores will have 200-400 kW charging stations in their parking lots. The locations make sense; now it’s just a matter of waiting for the pricing.
Agata announced that it will establish electric vehicle charging hubs at large-format stores located in Poland’s biggest cities. Each selected location will have 2 to 5 chargers, with each charger featuring two charging points that can serve 4 to 10 vehicles. The devices are intended to be ultra-fast, capable of reaching speeds of 200 or even 400 kW.
Agata invests in expanded charging stations
Installing ultra-fast chargers near furniture stores seems questionable, but Agata knows best how much time her customers spend there and whether they come for a long walk between displays or just stop for about fifteen minutes to pick up some accessories (lamp, chair, pillow, etc.). Additionally, it’s easy to see that in many cities, Agata’s stores are located rather near the outskirts of towns, often along ring roads or roads that serve as such. With an appropriate pricing strategy, these chargers could attract even those who would normally drive further — just like Superchargers near some shopping malls.

The charging stations will be launched alongside E.ona’s Polish division, specifically E.on Drive Infrastructure Poland (EDRI). Construction is set to begin this year, and given that energy providers have recently accelerated the deployment of high-capacity power connections, some of the charging stations should become operational this year or at the latest by 2027. Looking at EDRI Poland’s charging station map, it is clear that both Agata and EDRI can reap tangible benefits from this partnership. Agata mentions over 30 locations (source):
The current EDRI Poland pricing is not attractive: we’ll pay 2.45 PLN/kWh for AC charging, 2.67 PLN/kWh for DC charging at 100 kW capacity, and rates start at 2.73 PLN/kWh for chargers with 100 to 400 kW capacity (fast charging, payment at the terminal). If the provider adds a surcharge for higher power levels, the chargers at Agata Meble stores could approach the prices of PowerDot devices, around 3+ PLN/kWh. This will ensure that parking spaces next to them remain always available.
