Renault has unveiled a series of upgrades for the Renault 4 E-Tech electric at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, introducing longer driving range, new technology features, an entry-level variant, and an expanded Roland-Garros special edition lineup. The updates reflect the automaker's strategy of continuously improving vehicles after launch rather than waiting for full model refreshes.

The most significant enhancement comes in the form of increased driving range across the entire Renault 4 E-Tech electric family. Thanks to aerodynamic improvements including revised wing mirrors and a lower body fairing, the 40 kWh urban range version now delivers up to 310 km of WLTP range. Models equipped with the larger 52 kWh comfort range battery can now travel up to 415 km on a charge, while the Plein Sud version with its opening canvas roof reaches up to 400 km.

Renault is also expanding the lineup with the introduction of the Roland-Garros special edition in a comfort range configuration. Available with the 52 kWh battery and optional Plein Sud roof, the model adopts a "sport chic" design language inspired by the famous French tennis tournament. Exclusive features include unique exterior trim, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, Terracotta Brown detailing, recycled upholstery materials, and Roland-Garros branding throughout the cabin.

Further broadening customer choice, Renault will launch a new entry-level trim called Jogging before the end of the year. Designed to offer a more accessible price point, the model features a new 80 kW (110 hp) electric motor and a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. Renault estimates a WLTP range of up to 305 km, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.2 seconds. The Jogging version also includes a 6.6 kW AC onboard charger and supports DC fast charging at up to 80 kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 25 minutes.

Technology upgrades extend across the range. All Renault 4 E-Tech electric variants now receive a high-definition reversing camera and manual battery pre-conditioning, allowing drivers to optimize fast-charging performance without route planning. Higher-spec Techno and Iconic trims gain access to a new 360-degree camera system designed to simplify low-speed maneuvering.

Renault has also strengthened the vehicle's digital ecosystem. Owners can now receive charging completion notifications through the My Renault smartphone app, while a new Qi2-standard magnetic wireless charger promises improved charging efficiency and reduced heat generation. The eCall emergency system has been upgraded to support 4G and 5G networks, complementing the recently introduced Google Gemini AI-powered assistant integration.

Driver assistance systems have likewise been expanded. New additions include a predictive eco-driving assistant that analyzes upcoming road conditions such as bends and roundabouts to encourage more efficient driving, as well as an emergency stop assistant that can safely bring the vehicle to a halt if it detects driver inactivity.

Business customers are also receiving enhanced options through the Renault 4 Van range. A new N1-homologated "Extra" version joins the commercial lineup, offering additional equipment including navigation, a 10-inch multimedia display, tinted rear windows, and extra driver-assistance features. Cargo capacity reaches 940 dm³ under the VDA standard, with payloads of up to 360 kg depending on battery configuration.

Orders for the updated Renault 4 E-Tech electric range will open from October 12 or October 13, depending on the market and model. Renault says the latest improvements reinforce the model's versatility while enhancing efficiency, connectivity, and everyday usability for both private and commercial customers.
