Zeekr Power opens its first megawatt-level charging station in Thailand

Zeekr Power, Zeekr Group's in-house EV charging service company, has opened its first megawatt-level charging station in Thailand. It developed this site in partnership with TPM Automotive and Sinexcel. The company has built the new charging station at the Zeekr House Charoen Nakhon dealership, located in Thon Buri, Bangkok, and operated by TPM Automotive. It is using Sinexcel’s 960 kW ultra-fast charging stack at this facility. It is possible to increase the site’s installed capacity from 960 kW to 1,280 kW by adding power modules. The latest Zeekr Power site in Bangkok features one 700A liquid-cooled ultra-fast charger and three 500A air-cooled ultra-fast chargers. All four chargers have two charging guns, allowing up to eight EVs to charge simultaneously. Each of the eight charging points can deliver up to 480 kW, allowing compatible EVs with 800-volt or higher-voltage electrical architectures to take full advantage of their ultra-fast-charging capabilities. Zeekr Power demonstrated its new charging station’s potential with two units of the Zeekr 7X, which customers in Thailand can specify with a 75 kWh LFP battery pack chargeable at up to 450 kW or a 100 kWh NCM battery pack chargeable at up to 420 kW. It was able to charge them simultaneously from 20 per cent to 80 per cent SoC in ten minutes. Customers can access the chargers at the new Zeekr Power site via the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT)’s EleXA mobile app. Charging prices here normally start at 8 baht per kWh, but as an inaugural offer, Zeekr Power is offering a discounted rate of as low as 6.9 baht per kWh until 31 July. Following the latest expansion, Zeekr Power operates eight sites across Thailand, including seven in Bangkok and one in Chonburi.
