The Zeekr 001 will receive an update in Q1 2027. The current model is losing customers.
Zeekr announced on October 1, 2026, that the refreshed 001 would hit the market in the first quarter of 2027. No technical details or prices have been released yet, but the company has simultaneously launched October incentives for buyers of the current version.
The new Zeekr 001 will retain its shooting brake body style and 900 V powertrain. The manufacturer promises improved comfort, more customization options for the exterior, and a wider range of versions. That’s where the specifics end. We don’t know the battery capacity, performance figures, or any changes to the powertrain.
The current model was launched on October 11, 2025, at a price starting from 269,800 yuan. All variants were upgraded from 800 V to 900 V at that time. The version equipped with a 95 kWh Golden Battery can support 12C charging according to Zeekr, with a charge from 10% to 80% taking only 7 minutes. This is the manufacturer’s claim and requires a sufficiently powerful charger.
Zeekr is growing, but the 001 is moving in the opposite direction
The announcement of another update came at an inconvenient time for the current 001 model. In August, 1,667 units were delivered, which is 56.74% less than the previous year and 22.93% less than July. From January to August, sales totaled 20,076 units, a decrease of 21.50%, accounting for only 7.99% of the brand’s total deliveries.
ZEEKR itself has no growth issues. In August, it delivered a record 36,981 vehicles, 109.81% more than the previous year. This marked the fifth consecutive month of a record. After eight months, the brand’s total reached 251,188 cars, representing a 100.40% increase. The gap between the company’s performance and that of its former flagship shooting brake is thus hard to overlook.
ZEEKR tries to persuade buyers of the current model by offering a insurance subsidy of 10,000 yuan, or about $1,480. This offer is valid with a 5,000 yuan deposit paid between October 1 and 31. Customers can also choose a financing package, an end-payment discount, or a budget for additional accessories. Depending on the version, options such as selected wheels and brake calipers are available without any extra cost.
The company announces upgrades several months in advance, so the October bonuses are intended to mitigate the natural wait time for a newer vehicle. A similar move applies to the Zeekr 7X SUV. Its 2027 model version is set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2026.
