Forget the chain. The new Alutech electric bike relies on a belt and automatic shifting.

The Alutech ePelmo X1P electric bike replaces the chain with a belt and features smooth shifting. It includes fast charging, off-road suspension, and a price close to 300 thousand crowns.
Belt instead of chain, automatic shifting
The Alutech ePelmo X1P brings an interesting change to the off-road cycling world. The German manufacturer combined a motor with a smooth transmission and replaced the traditional chain with a belt. As a result, the cassette and derailleur on the rear wheel are no longer needed.
The heart of this new model is the Gobao X1P drive system with an electronically controlled eCVT transmission. The gear ratio changes smoothly over a range of 500%, eliminating the need to shift between individual gears. The control can be left to automation or managed manually.
The belt drive is designed to provide quiet operation and easier maintenance. In rough terrain, there’s also no risk of damage to the rear derailleur. The weight of the drive system is concentrated around the frame center, which the manufacturer claims also benefits suspension performance.
Design for challenging descents
The fully suspended ePelmo X1P is aimed at sports riders. Its Cat 5 aluminum frame and 170 millimeter suspension travel are suited for tough descents and forest trails. The overall design of this electric enduro reflects this focus.
Four frame sizes are available, from S to XL. Alutech offers a version with both 29-inch wheels as well as an MX variant with wheels of different sizes. The weight is expected to range around 23 kilograms depending on the chosen size and equipment.
The motor itself weighs 3.85 kilograms and uses a magnesium casing. Electric assistance ends at a speed of 25 km/h. The manufacturer also improved the motor cooling system, with its cover directing airflow for better heat dissipation.
Fast Charging and a Price of Nearly 300 Thousand
The power is supplied by a removable battery with a capacity of 750 Wh and a weight of 3.6 kilograms. Alutech claims it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. This fast charging is achieved through a current of 30 A and a power output of 1,500 W.
The manufacturer is already accepting orders, with the price of the complete bike starting at 11,999.95 euros, which is approximately 292 thousand crowns. For the Enduro 29 model, the e-shop indicates availability starting April 7, 2027. Shipping costs are added to the price as well.
