We can now buy in Spain one of the most interesting electric bikes that have hit the market in recent times.

Amflow has launched a strong offensive so far this year, introducing up to three new models. However, it is now that we can get our hands on one of the most interesting models they have released: the new TL Carbon bike, the first trekking (or SUV) bike from the Avinox-owned brand.

This electric bike appears to be the most versatile or functional model from the manufacturer: in fact, we would say it is a true mountain bike to which a series of accessories have been added to allow riding in the city or for trips. Nevertheless, it differs from the brand’s purely mountain-oriented models, thereby setting it apart from them.

Now, having said all that, what is obvious to everyone is one of the most prominent features of this TL Carbon: its price. For 3,499 euros, we get one of the best value electric bikes on the market, without a doubt.

A carbon frame

One of Amflow’s unique features is that it has so far only worked with carbon fiber, so with this carbon TL model we couldn’t expect any other construction material. The design is tailored to functionality, featuring dual suspension with ample travel: 120 mm at the front and 105 mm at the rear. The suspensions are of high quality considering the price, as Fox supplies both the fork (AWL) and the shock absorber (Float Performance).

A set of 27.5'' wheels has been installed to improve responsiveness in urban areas or when carrying heavy loads (including the bike itself, which weighs 22.6 kg; this TL Carbon model can carry up to 200 kg). However, it’s designed to accommodate 29'' wheels if desired.

Motor: ample power

Yes, it doesn’t use Avinox’s popular M2S motor; instead, it relies on the M2 motor, which delivers more power than most competitors. This unit boasts up to 1,100 W of power and 125 Nm of torque. Both of these figures, along with how they’re delivered, can be adjusted through the manufacturer’s app.

The built-in battery is 800 Wh, though we can opt for the less powerful 600 Wh version to save weight. However, this bike is compatible with the new 480 Wh external or secondary battery, allowing us to have up to 1,280 Wh... an incredible amount.

For 3,499 euros, we get a lot

Yes, this TL Carbon offers a lot for its price: besides its carbon frame or Fox suspensions, a notable feature is the new electronic transmission developed by the engine manufacturer itself (called Avinox Smoothshift, though it was created in collaboration with TRP), a component that’s uncommon in bikes at this price point. It has 10 gears (more than enough for this bike’s intended use) and performs flawlessly.
