Xpeng will showcase the G9L in September and the Mona L05 in Q4. The goal is 60,000 vehicles per month.

Xpeng announced during its results teleconference the launch of its large SUV, the G9L, in September 2026, and the Mona L05 model in the fourth quarter. The manufacturer aims to boost sales to over 60,000 vehicles per month in Q4, representing a roughly 58% increase from the 38,027 units delivered in July.

Specific plans were also given for Europe. The Mona L03 is set to enter foreign markets in Q4, with quarterly sales outside China expected to exceed 40,000 units.

Two new SUVs and an ambitious year-end goal

Xpeng’s brand head, He Xiaopeng, said the Xpeng G9L will make its official debut and begin deliveries in China in September. It is a large, 5-seater flagship SUV available as both a BEV and EREV. All 6 versions feature an 800 V architecture and fast charging capabilities.

The presale price starts at 259,800 yuan, which is approximately 147,000 zł when simply converted. On paper, it looks impressive: the EREV version has a total CLTC range of 1,602 km, while the BEV version reaches up to 755 km. It’s just important to remember that CLTC isn’t the actual range in Europe.

The G9L is set to compete with the Li Auto L7 and Aito M7. In Xpeng’s lineup, it will form a duo with the 6-seater GX as their flagship models.

The second model is the Mona L05, a mid-size SUV also available as both BEV and EREV. It measures 4,870 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,940 mm, and it is positioned higher than the already available Mona L03. Xpeng claims that together with the GX, L03, and L05, it will cover the main SUV segments. An ambitious plan, but at least feasible.

The company also provided a delivery forecast for the third quarter of 115,000–121,000 vehicles. This translates to an average of around 38,487–41,487 units per month in August and September. In the second quarter, Xpeng delivered 103,295 cars, representing a 64.8% quarter-on-quarter increase. He added that new orders in Q3 rose by over 50% compared to Q2 and reached record levels.

Not everything is going smoothly. Extreme weather conditions and supply chain issues have slowed down the production of new models. The company has already started two-shift production for the Mona L03 and is working with suppliers to increase capacity.

Europe will provide support, and the VLA will receive an updated version

International deliveries of the Mona L03 will begin in Q4. This is expected to lift Xpeng’s quarterly sales outside China to over 40,000 vehicles. In the second quarter, overseas sales exceeded 20,000 units for the first time, growing by 81% year-on-year, with international business accounting for more than 25% of total revenue in the first half of the year.

An interesting price figure was also released. The average price of an Xpeng car sold overseas is over 40,000 euros, which is approximately 171,000 Polish zlotys. The company also plans to introduce several EREV models to foreign markets in 2027. This could be more significant than the announcements of sedans and SUVs, as Europe is increasingly interested in vehicles with range extenders.

A separate thread deals with driving assistance systems. At the end of August, Xpeng will begin rolling out a major update to the second-generation VLA system. Version 6.3.0 is expected to have 3.5 times more parameters, with perception sensitivity increasing by 300 percent. The company also promises improved prediction capabilities and a longer planning horizon.

The new version will integrate VLA with VLM, and selected functions currently associated with robotaxis will be available in production vehicles. In Europe, Xpeng aims to secure regulatory approval for this technology in the first half of 2027.

Xpeng is no longer just talking about growth; it’s presenting specific numbers and timelines. The question remains whether monthly production can reach 60,000 vehicles, rather than just being based on slide presentations.
