XPeng officially unveiled its new family SUV, the L05, in China. The five-seater vehicle is set to arrive in Europe at the beginning of 2027, expanding the Chinese manufacturer’s model lineup. Within its lineup, the L05 sits above the 4,650 millimeter-long SUV coupe, the L03.

According to the manufacturer, the new model is aimed particularly at families that value ample space, high comfort, and flexibility. Under the theme of “Space for Life,” the L05 is designed to suit various everyday situations, including daily commutes to school, shopping trips, and weekend outings.

In terms of technical specifications, XPeng relies on self-developed artificial intelligence. A key component is its proprietary AI chip, “Turing,” which works in conjunction with the VLA 2.0 operating system. This system integrates camera images, speech recognition, and driving decisions.

Using this technology, the L05 is designed to perceive its surroundings in real time and assess various traffic situations. Based on this information, the electric vehicle is supposed to respond appropriately to traffic conditions. “This way, the family SUV contributes to a safer, more relaxed, and more intuitive driving experience,” the company states.

XPeng plans to reveal more details about the upcoming model at the auto show in Brussels in January. This includes technical specifications, powertrain options, and information on the features tailored for the German market. The capabilities of the intelligent driving assistance system and other onboard intelligent technologies will also be explained. Additionally, the manufacturer intends to announce the price and the exact launch date in Brussels.

"With the XPeng L05, we demonstrate how we envision family mobility of the future: it combines intelligent technologies with ample space and the flexibility that modern families need in their daily lives," says Markus Schrick, CEO of XPeng’s Central Europe sales region. "We look forward to revealing more details about its launch in Europe at the Brussels Motor Show in 2027."
