Xiaomi is accelerating its entry into Europe by partnering with eight major distributors

Xiaomi is preparing to enter the European automotive market. Less than a year before its official launch here, the Chinese manufacturer has just signed agreements with eight major distribution groups in Germany. It is perhaps this network that will set it apart from other Chinese competitors...
Although Xiaomi has not yet revealed exactly which cars it will sell in Europe or at what prices, the Chinese manufacturer is already laying the foundation for its future network in Germany. At IFA in Berlin, the Beijing-based company signed agreement protocols with eight major automotive distribution groups there.
Xiaomi Chooses Well-Known Dealers
According to Auto Actu, among the partners selected on the other side of the Rhine are Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier, Emil Frey, Fett & Wirtz Automobile, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility GmbH, Penske-Jacobs Innovation, and SPT Avior. Xiaomi has not yet specified how many dealers will sell its vehicles, but choosing groups with such a large network is no trivial decision.
This strategy also differs from that adopted by several young electric car brands a few years ago. Rather than focusing primarily on online sales or its own stores, Xiaomi aims to rely on traditional dealerships for the distribution and maintenance of its cars.
It must be said that Germany, with its large market size and strong automotive industry, should serve as one of the primary entry points for the manufacturer in Europe. However, other agreements are also expected in several countries.
The Chinese manufacturer takes action
Xiaomi is also preparing its cars for the specific demands of the European market. The company has an R&D center in Munich that employs around fifty staff members, many of whom come from BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini, or Mercedes. This team works on road performance, design, and adapting models to European standards.

This growth gives it a solid industrial foundation to enter the Old Continent. These are all signs that Xiaomi will not settle for merely capitalizing on its reputation in smartphones and electronics. The Chinese brand aims to carefully prepare its entry into the European automotive market.
So, with which models will Xiaomi make its presence felt here? In China, the company sells the SU7 (sedan) and YU7 (SUV). It is reasonable to expect both of these models to arrive in our market within a few months.
