Enefit summer promotion: 2.16 PLN/kWh for DC > 100 kW, 1.78 PLN/kWh for AC. Plus fixed discounts for consumption

Enefit has announced holiday rates for its charging stations, which are slightly better than those offered by Orlen Charge. Even on the fastest DC chargers, we pay 2.16 PLN/kWh without any subscription fee, whereas at Orlen it is 2.19 PLN/kWh (also without a subscription), and at GreenWay Polska, we only reach 2.10 PLN/kWh after purchasing the Energia Max package for 39.99 PLN per month.

Is around 2.10 PLN/kWh the pain threshold for operators?

Before attempting to answer this question, let’s first look at Enefit’s holiday pricing (source).

DC over 100 kW: 2.16 PLN/kWh,

DC up to 100 kW: 2.02 PLN/kWh,

DC 320 kW Białystok, Jana Pawła II 77: 1.99 PLN/kWh,

DC 140 kW Piekary Śląskie, Bytomska 49: 1.99 PLN/kWh,

AC: 1.78 PLN/kWh.

To access the above rates, you need to download the Enefit Charge Polska mobile app (iPhone/iOS HERE, Android HERE) and complete registration within it, including adding a credit card. It’s worth noting that this is already the second mobile app used by the provider, this time developed by Elocity (Elocity, Horyzont EV, Las EV). The previous one was called Enefit Volt. Neither of these apps received very good reviews...

The charging station in Piekarze Śląskie is located right next to the A1 intersection with DW911, which is an extension of DW79, while the one in Białystok is on the S8/DK8 route, at the exit from the city — a spot that can be visited at the start of a trip. Additionally, the operator reminds that it offers usage-based discounts: 10 percent for 60-99.9 kWh, 15 percent for 100-179.9 kWh, and a 20 percent discount on usage of at least 180 kWh per month after at least two charging sessions.

The discounts apply to the following month, so a summer trip with Enefit in July will result in lower prices in August. New users who complete all the details in the mobile app may also receive a 20 zloty coupon, but the number of coupons is limited (100 in July, 50 in August). Also, trips must be to very specific locations, as Enefit’s charging network in Poland is quite small:

A way to take advantage of the operator’s promotion is by charging regularly using AC outlets. If we exceed 180 kWh per month, we can reduce our AC rate to 1.42 zł/kWh, which is close to the cost of energy under tariff G11 including all fees.

Note from Elektrowozu’s editorial team: It seems all operators have agreed to sell us energy (charging services) at around 2 zł/kWh. We start to feel that this price can only be maintained through excess electricity production from solar sources; otherwise, the rate increases when there’s no renewable energy. An alternative to lower prices could be increasing the number of electric vehicle users, but there doesn’t seem to be any revolution in Poland in this regard...
