VW ID. Tiguan from 163,390 PLN. Larger battery from 199,690 PLN

Volkswagen has released the Polish pricing for the ID. Tiguana, the electric successor to the ID.4. The version with a 61 (58) kWh battery and 140 kW/190 hp engine starts at 163,390 zł, while models with an 82 (77) kWh battery begin at 199,690 zł. For a new vehicle, this is an acceptable price point, assuming one does not opt for premium audio or a projection display.
The ID.4, in almost identical configuration, was sold out at the end of production for 127,490 zł, so the difference is around 35,900 zł. The pricing list does not include a version with a medium-sized battery.
Dimensions, Battery, and Engines
The ID. Tiguana falls between the C-segment and D-SUV segments. It measures 4.62–4.63 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. Thus, it is slightly longer than its predecessor, with the wheelbase resulting from the MEB+ RWD platform.
The smaller package now uses LFP cells instead of Li-NMC. The total capacity has dropped from 62 to 61 kWh, with the usable capacity at 58 kWh. According to the manufacturer, charging from 10% to 80% takes 26 minutes.
The base APP350 engine is available only with the small battery. With the 82 (77) kWh package, the much more powerful APP550 is standard.
Trend, Life and Style: What’s included and what costs extra
The Trend can only be purchased with the small battery and a weaker engine. Standard features include black fabric upholstery, 19-inch steel wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a 15-inch screen, dual-zone climate control, rain sensor, and rear camera. There is no heated steering wheel or seats, nor a V2L adapter. Heat pumps are absent, but they’re never standard on MEB vehicles.
The Life comes standard with Innovision Pro navigation including stop-and-go charging planning, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and heated seats and steering wheel. Optionally, it can have a glass roof and 30-color interior lighting. Matrix headlights are still absent, and the audio system features seven speakers. It also includes a larger battery, a range of over 600 km WLTP, and a more powerful engine. This is likely the most sensible entry point.
The top-of-the-line Style version with a larger battery and rear-wheel drive starts at 212,390 zł. The all-wheel-drive version with 220 kW/299 hp begins at 227,390 zł. We still have to pay extra for the paint color, while light gray upholstery is included in the price.
The list of additional costs clearly shows who VW is targeting:
Harman-Kardon audio system with a display in front of the passenger: 6,450 zł,
front seat massage function: 5,120 zł,
HUD in the Technology Pro package: +8,060 zł.
The HUD in Life is only available with a lower Technology package: +6180 zł.
To get the HUD and good audio, we’d have to pay an amount equivalent to a used city car. It’s undeniable that the base model is reasonable, but the real price starts with the configuration tool.
A new battery with a capacity of around 95 (90) kWh is set to appear in 2027. Those who aren’t in a hurry can wait for the larger version that’s still missing. And is 163,390 zł for 190 HP and 58 kWh of usable capacity a fair starting price for you?
