The VW ID. Polo is in high demand and sold out for months.

The electric compact car VW ID. Polo, priced starting at 24,995 euros, is already seeing high demand even before its official launch. According to Automobilwoche, there are over 30,000 orders nationwide in Europe. The response has far exceeded initial expectations, especially in Germany.

The high demand is leading to longer delivery times. A manager at a major VW dealership group told an industry portal that the entire ID. Polo lineup is sold out, with a waiting period of at least ten months. Since the opening of pre-order books at the end of April, customers have been able to order the vehicles without first seeing them in person or test driving the roughly four-meter-long electric car.

In response to a query from Automobilwoche, VW stated that the combination of “very strong customer demand” and the long-term planned production capacity at its Martorell plant in Spain is currently causing longer delivery times. The exact delivery dates depend on the individual configuration. The company is working hard to gradually increase production in order to reduce waiting times.

Availability applies to pre-configured vehicles that dealers have in stock in designated quotas and are available upon launch. According to insiders, the ID. Cross, the SUV version of the ID. Polo that starts at 36,525 euros, is also seeing strong order interest, reports Automobilwoche.
