Volkswagen launches the ID. Tiguan configurator in Spain: starting at 43,645 euros

Volkswagen’s most popular electric car, the ID.4, was recently replaced by an even more ambitious model: the new ID. Tiguan. Despite the name change, it isn’t actually a completely new vehicle but rather a major update that brings significant aesthetic and technological changes, making it a much more competitive contender in its category.

This is an SUV that measures 4.62 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, and 1.62 meters in height; thus, it falls between the C segment (compact SUVs) and D segment (midsize SUVs). It still relies on the MEB modular platform, the same one used for Volkswagen’s other electric models, from the smaller ID. Polo and ID. Cross to the larger ID.7 and ID. Buzz.

Volkswagen has just launched the configurator for the new model in our country. The ID. Tiguan range includes three trim levels (Match, Life, and Style), two battery capacities (58 and 77 kWh), and three power outputs (190 HP, 286 HP, and 299 HP, with the latter featuring all-wheel drive). This results in a range of five versions for now.

The Match version with 190 HP and 58 kWh starts at 39,590 euros with promotions (43,645 euros without them) and before any subsidies. It has a WLTP range of 454 km and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 26 minutes, with a peak charging power of 105 kW. Above it is the Life version with 286 HP and 77 kWh, priced at 44,315 euros (48,725 euros without promotions), offering a WLTP range of 604 km, making it a better choice for long trips. Its maximum charging power is 165 kW, allowing it to reach 80% charge in 29 minutes.

The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan is available in five versions

The Life version with 299 horsepower and a 77 kWh battery costs 46,510 euros (51,085 euros without promotions). Due to its dual-motor powertrain’s higher consumption, its range is reduced to 563 km WLTP. There are no changes in terms of charging capabilities. The 286 horsepower and 299 horsepower powertrains can also be paired with the Style trim level, costing 48,835 euros and 51,030 euros respectively (51,585 euros and 55,945 euros without promotions). Their ranges are slightly higher at 605 km and 564 km WLTP.

"The Tiguan is our best-selling model worldwide, while the ID.4 and ID.5 are among our most successful electric cars. The ID. Tiguan combines these two success stories," said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen, head of Brand Group Core and member of the Group’s Executive Board.

"A pure and safe design, with the presence of a premium vehicle, intuitive handling, and thanks to MEB+, a range of up to 605 kilometers: a new benchmark for our electric SUVs manufactured in Germany. Along with the Tiguan, produced in Wolfsburg, the ID. Tiguan, made in Emden, forms part of one of Europe’s strongest SUV duos."
