One of Fiat’s most successful electric cars gets a fresh boost: it now aims to dominate Europe on open roads.

The Fiat Topolino has become a very important part of the Italian brand’s micromobility strategy. In fact, Fiat claims that this model has led Europe’s electric quadricycle market since 2025, and that it achieved its highest-ever order volume in the second quarter of 2026, with a 30% increase compared to the same period last year.
This growth is prompting Fiat to rapidly expand a lineup that was quite simple until recently. Following the Sport and Vilebrequin editions, the company is now introducing the Topolino Dolcevita, a variant that combines side doors from a conventional body with a rollable canvas roof that allows almost the entire upper part of the cabin to be opened, much in the style of what we already knew from the Fiat 500.
Fiat is bringing to its regular lineup a solution that originated as a limited edition.
The configuration is not entirely new. Fiat introduced it earlier this summer in the Topolino Vilebrequin Collector's Edition, a limited series of 200 units for Italy and France that used a closed body with an operable roof for the first time. That version also featured two-tone styling, nautical-inspired details, and equipment developed in collaboration with the French brand Vilebrequin.
Now this solution is no longer tied solely to a special series. The Topolino Dolcevita retains side doors and folding windows for better protection against wind or rain, but allows the canvas roof to be rolled up when conditions permit. In the Netherlands, one of the markets where its availability has already been announced, Fiat has set a price starting at 10,490 euros, compared to 9,990 euros for the regular Topolino.
The technical foundation remains largely unchanged. The Topolino continues to be an electric quadricycle designed primarily for urban commuting, built on the same architecture as models like the Citroën Ami and limited to 45 km/h. Its compact size and design approach align precisely with Fiat’s strategy to gain a foothold in short-distance urban travel.
A range that keeps growing with sales
The introduction of the Dolcevita comes at a particularly favorable time for the Topolino. Fiat claims that the quadricycle led Europe’s market in its category in 2025, and that during the second quarter of 2026 its orders increased by 30% compared to the same period the previous year, reaching its best performance since launch.
With this new variant, Fiat aims to expand the model’s options without changing the formula already familiar to the market. The Dolcevita retains its compact size, maximum speed limit of 45 km/h, and urban-focused design, but it adds a body style that allows driving with the roof open. Thus, the company transforms what was originally a limited edition into just another option within a family that continues to gain new versions.
