Uattzy grows stronger with the arrival of Ciavarella

Uattzy, one of Italy’s most important charging networks, is strengthening its position with the arrival of Luca Ciavarella as COO. Here’s the strategy behind it.

The charging infrastructure in Italy continues to expand: as of June, there were 84,564 public charging points spread across 44,024 stations and 28,640 locations. The number of vehicles in use is also increasing, though slowly. It is against this backdrop that Uattzy, UAU’s public charging brand, strengthens its management team by appointing Luca Ciavarella as CCO (Chief Commercial Officer). This executive will be responsible for shaping commercial development through new business areas, helping to achieve the goal of expanding the network from over 3,000 charging points currently installed and operated to 9,000 by 2030. “We need to make electric mobility more accessible to everyone,” explains Alessandro Vigilanti, CEO of Uattzy. “We must make charging more affordable and transparent for users, as well as more reliable and easily integrated for companies, government agencies, and operators who invest in or host charging infrastructure.”

Distributors and corporate fleets are the priority targets

The new business strategy will focus on several priority segments: fuel distributors and corporate fleets. Additionally, hospitality, grocery stores, retail, and the public sector are included. Specifically for fleets, Uattzy aims to develop a service that goes beyond simply providing parking for businesses. The goal is to manage the entire vehicle refueling process for corporate vehicles, including allowing employees to use the service at home as well. “Our role in today’s ecosystem is that of a full-service provider,” explains Ciavarella. “We are now able to offer a range of services that create a complete and unique offering in the industry. This enables us to support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their infrastructure, with customized service and investment models.”

"I know the origins of Uattzy very well; I’ve been following GASGAS since its inception. I’ve always been impressed by how quickly this project evolved from a startup to a scaleup.
