    Trinity Unveils New Saturn GT 300 Maxi-Electric Scooter with 140 km/h Top Speed

    The Lower Saxony-based company Trinity Electric Vehicles introduces the Saturn GT 300, a maxi-electric scooter that can reach speeds of 140 km/h and has a range of up to 310 kilometers. This model is one of the fastest and longest-range electric bicycles allowed to be driven with an A1 driver’s license.

  • With the 2026 model year of the Saturn GT 300, Trinity introduces an electric gran turismo on two wheels that, according to the company, sets new standards in terms of performance, comfort, and features. Following the launch of the Jupiter GT two years ago, Trinity raises the bar even further: the Saturn GT 300 can reach 140 km/h, while the Jupiter GT only reaches 120 km/h.

    Other features include an electric motor with a continuous power output of 11 KW and a peak power output of 22 KW, a generous 13.3-kWh battery suitable for e-bikes, and a range of 310 km. Already known from the Jupiter GT but not yet standard across all e-scooters: the Saturn GT 300 also comes equipped with a standard Type2 charging port. With an AC charging power of 3 KW, it’s possible to add up to 30 km of range in 30 minutes. According to the manufacturer, even daily trips of 500 km are no problem with proper charging breaks. However, it’s questionable who would want to travel such distances on an e-scooter.

    Saturn GT 300 as a Motorcycle Competitor

    Trinity views the Saturn GT 300 as a competitor to full-fledged motorcycles: With 14-inch tires on the rear and 15-inch tires on the front (both from Michelin), the Saturn GT operates in areas typically associated with motorcycles according to the company based in Meinersen near Gifhorn. The larger tires are intended to provide significantly better straight-line stability, greater handling stability when tilted, and the ability to handle uneven surfaces with ease. This is meant to create a riding experience that feels noticeably smoother and higher quality compared to other scooters.

    In fact, this riding pleasure is available as early as 16 years old with an A1 license. Trinity states that the Saturn GT 300 is classified as a 125cc machine but is more akin to a 500cc machine — one that requires an A2 license and can only be driven at 18 years old.

    The performance data is truly unmatched. However, it’s important to understand that a 13.3kWh battery cannot provide 310km of range in real-world use. A standard 50cc electric scooter (with a top speed of 45km/h) already consumes 3.5...4kWh per 100km. Therefore, the actual consumption of this larger scooter is likely around 6kWh per 100km. At driving speeds between 5...95%, this would result in a maximum range of 200km. It’s a shame it can’t charge faster—given the battery size, 6kW charging capacity (0.5 C) would be feasible. Still, it’s an excellent vehicle and, as mentioned, truly unmatched. For those unfamiliar with the energy comparison, 6kWh per 100km is roughly equivalent to 0.8 liters of gasoline. This is an astonishing figure—I once had a Honda Helix 250 CX, which was very fuel-efficient at around 3.5 liters per 100km, sometimes even 4 liters in winter.

    It’s being charged via Type 2, which means it requires a built-in charger. Naturally, as the power output increases, these chargers also become larger and bulkier. I think anything over 3 kW simply wouldn’t fit.

    I have one. As one of the first owners. The range is actually realistic. On the highway, with my 115kg weight and 190cm height, I can get 250 - 280km. It has a decent acceleration and works great for long trips thanks to Android Auto and Carplay. What’s not so great is the stupid charger: it stubbornly draws 3kW, no matter what settings are used on the wallbox. Live data from charging stations, setting a maximum charge percentage, displaying remaining range? Nothing of the sort. The display also doesn’t show current consumption, power draw, or any values regarding electricity flow during regenerative braking. It could all be better if only one wanted it to. Would I buy it again? No. I want information on the display! Will I give it back? Definitely not for now. I love the range and driving performance.

    The Lower Saxony-based company Trinity Electric Vehicles said, "We are a German manufacturer. We develop, design, and produce electric scooters according to our customers' wishes. Our Chinese partners and suppliers manufacture strictly in accordance with our quality standards." This means that anything China does not supply is also not "built" by Trinity. Some motorcycles have batteries with over 20 kWh, so 13 kWh is not really substantial. Instead of carrying a charger along, a CCS connector would be useful for long distances, although it requires a battery voltage of at least 200 volts. As far as I’ve heard, they even plan to offer Zero DCFC fast charging starting in 2027 and to install it retroactively from 2022, even though the batteries only have around 100 volts.

    The latest version of the Energica Ego came out 5 years ago. Since then, despite Ducati releasing its extremely fast MotoE bike, there has been no significant progress in motorcycles. Batteries remained smaller than those in the Energica, weight stayed high, and fast charging was virtually non-existent. Truly disappointing. It will be several more years before I can replace my old Superduke.

    The Honda WN7 also has DC. There are videos of electric trucks as well. Some larger motorcycles have DC, but it’s quite rare in scooters.
