The Oslo Motor Show is still being held not in Oslo, but at Nova Spektrum on the outskirts of Lillestrøm from Friday to Sunday this weekend.
In any case, it is the major event of the year for car enthusiasts in Norway. For 16 years, it has brought together a wide range of automotive interests under one roof.
Yes, by the way, not just under the roof. A lot also happens outside.
27 Electric Cars
The unique thing about the exhibition is that it brings together all aspects of automotive interest, not just some of them. But it’s hardly a secret that there is a heavy emphasis on gasoline-powered cars discussed there.
But there’s a change underway, and it’s quite interesting one at that. With almost 99 percent of new car sales now being electric, it shows in the exhibition as well.

We think this is a record in terms of electric vehicles, as you can check out 26 new electric cars at the exhibition this year. There’s also a stylish Tesla Model 3 there.
Breaking historical records
There are several ways to make electric cars interesting, even at enthusiast exhibitions. Renault really impressed everyone when they displayed both new and older versions of the Renault 4, 5, and 5 Turbo models.

And they plan to be just as extravagant this year. This time it’s the Twingo, available in both old and new versions. The Renault 4 with a fishbox roof will also be on display.
In addition, we’ll see the revived sports car brand Alpine for the first time. Alpine was actually sold off since 2017, but the A110 never made it to Norway.

These days, the brand is being relaunched in Norway with two completely new electric Alpine models, flanked by a classic A110. All set to impress the audience at the Oslo Motor Show.
Mazda is also bringing out an old Mazda 1500 as they showcase their two latest electric vehicles, the 6e and CX-6e.

MG might have this year’s most exciting electric car news, or rather a concept vehicle.
The rugged MG Go was first unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer and can be seen in Lillestrøm over the holidays.
In addition, a completely new MG4 is being shown — this time with all-wheel drive.
Xpeng is also quite spectacular. They showcase technology that is far ahead of what’s typical in the electric vehicle market.
Land Aircraft Carrier is the company’s modular car and aircraft system, while the humanoid robot Iron is increasingly being used as a helper in kitchens.
In addition, Xpeng has two Norwegian premieres at the auto show: their smallest model, the L03, and their largest SUV, the G9L.

The motor group is also represented with two Norwegian premieres:
Changan Nevo Q05 and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which is essentially a Renault Megane with a Mitsubishi front end.
At their booth, they also display the Changan Deepal S05, which had its Norwegian premiere last year, along with the relatively new Hongqi EHS5.
Eggs and racing stripes
The small Microlino car should also draw attention at the show. It’s not entirely new, but it’s clearly retro-inspired by the Iso/BMW Isetta.
Ford showcases its well-known Capri and Explorer models with racing stripes, larger wheels, and a new front end.
A completely new brand is also making its debut: the all-electric vehicle brand Farizon. They display a four-wheel-drive van that is well-suited to thrive in the Norwegian market.
