Lexus has a new model in its lineup that is cheaper than any car from the brand – and it’s not even a car. It’s a high-performance aerodynamic road bike that lacks two wheels and an engine compared to a car. The most expensive version will cost around 60,000 zł, which is less than half the price of the cheapest Lexus with four wheels. It sounds like a marketing joke, but the equipment is completely serious. Under the Japanese brand’s logo lies the Ridley Noah Fast 3.0 – a bike used by professional racing teams. I tested what it’s capable of.

Why is a premium brand selling bikes?

Lexus has been expanding its lifestyle product line for years — from furniture and accessories to yachts and concepts such as helicopters. A road bike represents another step in this strategy, but one that is particularly significant, as it isn’t a city commuter model but rather a top-tier sports bike. It can be ordered at dealerships across Poland, with a waiting time of about three months, the same as for regular cars.

What lies beneath the copper-black paint?

Beneath the Lexus logo lies the Ridley Noah Fast 3.0 – the flagship aero bike from the Belgian brand with a competitive heritage. It was on this bike that the Uno-X Mobility team competed in 2026, a debutant on the World Tour that helped Torstein Træen earn the yellow jersey as leader of the Tour de France that summer. The third generation of the Noah Fast is a “100 percent aero” design. According to the manufacturer, it is 8.5 watts faster than its predecessor at 50 km/h, thanks in part to a split fork that directs turbulent air away from the spokes. Lexus added its own touch to this bike with the Sonic Copper paint, a copper-black shade known from models like the ES.

From 45,000 to 60,000 zlotys

The Lexus bicycle is available in two configurations. The base model, equipped with Japan’s Shimano Ultegra Di2 2×12 drivetrain, costs around 10,500 euros, which is approximately 45,000 zł. The top-tier version with wireless Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 costs about 13,500 euros, roughly 58–60,000 zł, and includes features such as a 3D-printed saddle mounted on carbon rods. Both versions share a carbon frame, carbon cockpit (integrated handlebar with stem), and DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT carbon wheels. The entire bike weighs about 8 kg. For comparison, Lexus’s cheapest four-wheeled vehicle, the urban LBX, starts at around 130,000 zł.

Astounding Lightness

I had the chance to test this bike, and it’s immediately clear that we’re not dealing with an ordinary ride. The balance, riding position, and handling precision are at the highest level. Additionally, the electric gear shifter switches gears with extreme accuracy, like a sports transmission that can change gears in milliseconds. Moreover, even without much training, you can speed this bike up to 40-50 km/h and maintain that speed. It feels as though it was designed to cut through the air stream to minimize aerodynamic resistance!

Aerodynamics take control

But this has its consequences. The riding position in this bike is demanding. The cockpit is very long and exceptionally narrow—almost professionally narrow—which allows one to assume a highly aerodynamic posture, but it requires considerable flexibility and an ability to adapt to the bike. A key factor before choosing the size is what’s known as bikefitting, or professional fitting—so as to adjust the frame size, cockpit width, and length even before ordering, and after receiving the desired bike to properly fine-tune the saddle height and other elements of this complex setup. Although it sounds complicated, it can be compared to choosing your ideal car configuration. It’s not easy to determine, but once done right, the satisfaction lasts for years.

With Lexus DNA

The most interesting bridge between bicycles and motor vehicles is the warranty. Lexus covers road bikes for up to 10 years, just like the traction batteries in its hybrids and electric vehicles, and unlike cars with no mileage limit. However, maintenance is not provided at Toyota or Lexus service centers. Owners of these road bikes will need to go to Ridley’s authorized bike repair shops, which are plentiful in Poland.

Is it worth it?

The Lexus bike is both a striking decoration for the garage and a genuinely fast racing machine – an unusual combination that may not appeal to everyone or suit everyone’s physical capabilities. For an enthusiast who has dreamed of owning a Noah Fast, it’s an attractive option with a decade-long warranty included. For the rest, it’s more of a luxury gadget. However, the Japanese company promises to introduce more bikes in their lineup, including more “civilian” versions and possibly ones with electric motors – after all, Toyota markets itself as a leader in electromobility, so why not also be a leader in micromobility?
