Cheap charging at Tauron, as low as 0.49 zł/kWh in summer, up to 2.09 zł/kWh on DC in winter – we have the first details of the campaign. Starting in July

The announcement of a new affordable charging offer at Tauron sparked great interest among our readers, so we decided to ask the operator for details about the campaign. It turns out that these details will be released in July, when the service officially launches, but we already know a few specifics. The monthly subscription fee is set at 79.99 zloty, and charging prices will vary depending on the time of year, day of the week, or day of the month.

According to Gracjan Respondek, spokesperson for Tauron Nowe Technologie SA, any electric vehicle user who registers in the eTauron app (system) and decides to sign a 12-month subscription agreement will be able to take advantage of this offer. Contrary to our earlier assumptions, the offer is not limited locally to current subscribers of Tauron’s other services (electricity generation or supply); rather, it is clearly geographically restricted by the availability of Tauron charging stations:

Signing a twelve-month contract ensures fixed prices for chargers throughout its duration. The subscription isn’t among the cheapest; on the contrary, it’s likely the most expensive on the market, as we even pay 51.5 zloty at Ionity Power, while GreenWay Polska has just reduced its rates. Tauron, however, claims it will offer attractive prices for recharging.

So, during weekends and holidays in the summer between 10:00 and 16:00, the price per kWh will be 0.29 zloty at AC stations and 0.49 zloty at DC chargers. We assume these are the lowest rates, which is why they were mentioned first in their communications. During the same period and hours but on weekdays, charging will cost 0.59 (AC) and 0.79 zloty/kWh (DC), which is still significantly lower than the rate at a regular G11 outlet.

In winter, the prices will be 1.79 PLN/kWh for AC and 2.09 PLN/kWh for DC. We don’t know if there will be any time-based rate differences or if any promotions are planned during periods of excess production. Details of the offer are set to be announced in July.

Editor’s note from Elektrowozu: We came up with a rather crazy idea—to completely give up using electricity at home, charging at Tauron between 10 and 16, and then transporting that energy with a vehicle. With a pull-trailer, one charge per quarter should suffice, and if everything is powered by electricity, just one charge per month
