The limited to 999 units Couture Edition of the new Smart #2 is reportedly completely sold out in Europe according to the manufacturer. As Smart stated, the special model was sold out within two weeks of its launch on October 13 in Germany and all other European markets where it was available. However, the first deliveries of this all-electric two-seater are not expected until the second quarter of 2027.

The Smart #2 was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in early October as the successor to the discontinued ForTwo. With this new model, the brand returns to the concept of a particularly compact electric city vehicle with two seats, following a recent focus on larger electric SUVs and crossovers such as the #1, #3, and #5. According to the manufacturer, the Paris Motor Show in mid-October was so far the only opportunity for European interested parties to see the new two-seater in person. As a result, the special edition was sold out even before its official market launch.

The Couture Edition is based on the Premium trim level and stands out particularly due to its exclusive design. Features include a matte white body paint in “Atelier White Matte,” a roof in “Platinum Gold,” and 16-inch alloy wheels with gold accents. Standard equipment includes a glass roof, ambient lighting, heated seats, a steering wheel heater, a Sennheiser audio system, an inductive smartphone charging option, and a navigation system. The starting price in Germany for this limited version is 25,690 euros.

Technically, this special model is equivalent to the regular variants of the #2. The approximately 2.75 meter long two-seater features an electric motor at the rear axle with 60 kW or 82 horsepower, along with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery with a capacity of 35.7 kWh. Smart currently states a combined range of up to 290 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, with an energy consumption of 13.6 kWh per 100 kilometers. The maximum DC charging capacity is 65 kW, and the turning radius is given as 6.95 meters.

After the sale of the Couture Edition, customers can still pre-order the #2 in the regular lineup options Pure, Pure+, and Premium. In Germany, the price starts at 19,990 euros for the base Pure model. This makes the entry price 5,700 euros lower than that of the limited special edition. The electric vehicle is still in the European type-approval process, so technical specifications and feature details may change until final approval is granted.
