The Smart #2 limited edition was sold out

The Smart #2 limited edition was sold out in just 14 days since orders opened. The standard model, priced at 19,990 euros, will arrive in the second quarter of 2027.
Smart #2 limited edition: 999 units sold immediately
After gradually moving away from the microcar segment to focus on larger electric SUVs, Smart is set to rediscover its original identity with the new Smart #2. Developed by the joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, it features particularly compact dimensions without compromising on advanced technological features.
The first commercial signal came with the Couture Edition, a special version produced in only 999 units for the European market. According to Smart, all available units were reserved within two weeks of orders opening.

Smart #2 limited edition sold out at 25,690 euros
The Couture Edition starts at 25,690 euros and is based on the Premium trim. Its features include a panoramic glass roof, Sennheiser audio system, heated seats and steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging, and a navigation system.
It is also distinguished by some specific aesthetic elements: matte white paint, a roof with golden accents, and 16-inch Lyra alloy wheels with gold inlays.
The standard range will be available in the Pure, Pure+, and Premium trims. The announced starting price is 19,990 euros, a particularly attractive figure for those looking for a compact electric car without having to bear the cost of a larger vehicle.
For the Italian market, it will be important to determine what the differences in equipment are between the various versions.

Smart#2, a city car
The Smart #2 uses the new Electric Compact Architecture (ECA) platform, developed specifically for this family of vehicles. Its dimensions reflect its urban orientation: 2.75 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 1.88 meters.
The trunk offers a capacity of 305 liters, an impressive figure considering its two-seater configuration. The turning radius is also quite small: just 6.95 meters, a feature that should make maneuvering in urban centers and tight parking spaces easier.
The power comes from a rear electric motor producing 60 kW (82 hp) and 130 Nm of torque. The maximum speed claimed is 140 km/h. The LFP battery is supplied by CATL with a capacity of 35.7 kWh. Smart claims a maximum range of 290 km under the WLTP cycle.
All versions also support fast DC charging up to 65 kW. According to the manufacturer, it takes less than 20 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80% of its capacity.
A “discomforting” rival for compact electric cars
The Smart #2 represents an important return to a segment that has lost several key players in recent years. Its compact size and two-seater configuration make it a distinct offering compared to current electric utilities, with a clearly more urban focus.
The starting price of 20,000 euros will certainly be one of the decisive factors in assessing its competitiveness in Italy, along with actual range, equipment, and operating costs. First deliveries to customers are expected in the second quarter of 2027.
