Škoda Peaq starting at 204,900 zł in Poland. 7-seater version cheaper than Ioniq 9

Škoda has released the pricing for its electric Peaq in Poland, its largest SUV. The 60 version with rear-wheel drive, 204 HP, and a 63 kWh battery costs starting at 204,900 zł. This price is lower than the Peugeot e-5008 and over 100,000 zł cheaper than the Hyundai Ioniq 9.

The Peaq is nearly 4.9 meters long, which is 11.6 cm longer than the Kodiaq. The manufacturer claims it can seat seven people and has a trunk capacity of 890 liters, or 935 liters when measured with the seats folded down. This is a true family car, not just another SUV pretending to be a flagship model.

The base Peaq 60 is supposed to cover over 450 km according to WLTP standards. It can accept up to 160 kW at a fast charger, with charging from 10% to 80% taking 27 minutes. The figures seem reasonable, though for a car of this size, the actual highway range will naturally be significantly lower than the listed 450 km.

The 90 kWh battery costs an extra 37,200 zł

The biggest issue isn’t the starting price but the need to upgrade to a larger battery. The Peaq 90 costs 242,100 zł, which is exactly 37,200 zł more than the 60 version. In return, it offers 286 HP, a claimed WLTP range of over 640 km, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.1 seconds instead of 8.4 seconds.

The maximum charging power increases to 199 kW, but the time required at a charger remains practically unchanged. Charging from 10% to 80% should take 28 minutes because the battery is simply much larger. Thus, the nominal 199 kW doesn’t mean the Peaq 90 will be significantly faster on the road than the base version.

The Sportline version starts at 266,100 PLN and is available only with a larger battery. It is expected to offer features such as electrically adjustable seats with memory function, a digital key, dual Qi2 wireless chargers, 360-degree cameras, matrix headlights, and a 230 V outlet in the trunk.

Significantly cheaper than the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 costs 312,600 PLN for the 218 HP version with a 110 kWh battery and a range of up to 620 km. The Kia EV9, with 203 HP and a 98.8 kWh battery, starts at 328,200 PLN. Against these competitors, the Peaq 90 at 242,100 PLN appears quite competitive.

The Peugeot e-5008 is a closer match. The 213 HP version with a 73 kWh battery costs from 213,650 PLN, while the Long Range version with a 96.6 kWh battery and an estimated range of around 650 km is priced at 233,150 PLN. Peugeot is cheaper than the Peaq 90, but it accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds, compared to Škoda’s 7.1 seconds.

Peaq shows that a large electric SUV doesn’t have to start at 300,000 zł, but for a more reasonable range, Škoda still demands a high price. At 242,000 zł, would you choose the Peaq 90 or the cheaper Peugeot e-5008 Long Range?
