Skoda Elroq tops July sales in Poland and Germany, Kia PV5 leads in the first half of the year across many European countries [results]

Skoda announced that in July 2026, the Skoda Elroq was the most popular (=most frequently registered) electric car in Poland. The same held true in Germany, where it even outperformed Volkswagen models. Meanwhile, Kia claimed that the Kia PV5 captured 37 percent of orders in the minivan and light commercial vehicle (C) segment across Europe. In some countries, it was the most chosen delivery vehicle regardless of powertrain type.

Skoda Elroq claims a well-deserved victory

Last month, 105 units of the Skoda Elroq were registered in Poland, earning it the title of the most popular electric car. For comparison, the Skoda Octavia, the overall best-selling car in July 2026, sold 2,110 units. This gives a ratio of 1 to 20, which fairly reflects the Polish BEV market compared to all vehicle types (actually 4 percent). The entire TOP5 list of electric cars is as follows (source):

Ford Explorer – 99 units,

Audi Q4 e-tron – 82 units,

Audi Q6 e-tron – 81 units,

Leapmotor B10 – 80 units.

Ford offers the Explorer with excellent financing options, Audi promises refined elegance and can also surprise with discounts, while the Leapmotor B10 appeals with its great value for money. Nevertheless, compared to other markets, electric vehicle sales remain minimal here. For comparison: in Germany, Europe’s largest automotive market, the TOP5 BEVs are as follows (source).

Skoda Elroq – 3,541 units,

Volkswagen ID.7 – 3,247 units,

Volkswagen ID.4+ID.5 – 3,241 units,

BMW iX1 – 2,901 units,

Skoda Enyaq – 2,868 units.

The success of the Skoda Elroq comes as no surprise, either here or elsewhere. It’s a car with dimensions well-suited to Europeans’ needs — 4.49 meters long and 2.77 meters wide — offering either standard or larger batteries, along with a solid performance-to-price ratio. Skoda already insisted on the Enyaq iV that it needed electric vehicles that looked normal and fit within the brand’s design language, and this strategy continues to pay off. Additionally, Volkswagen essentially has no direct competitor to the Elroq, so Skoda’s decision to delay it years ago, when the ID.3 and Cupra Born were unveiled, turned out to be beneficial for the brand.

Kia PV5, the most popular electric van

Kia claims that in the first half of 2026, the Kia PV5 accounted for as much as 37 percent of the electric van market in the C segment. In two of Europe’s three largest markets (Germany, United Kingdom) as well as in ten other countries, the Kia PV5 dominated the C segment (BEV vans). In Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, the PV5 is the most popular van overall, regardless of drive type — accounting for 63 percent (!) of sales in Denmark and 62 percent in Ireland within that segment.

In Poland, the vehicle ranks second in its segment and sixth overall among electric delivery trucks, although the brand has not yet sold any cargo vehicles. Additionally, a 7-seater passenger version is now available, allowing for the comfortable transport of 6 people.
