Mass production of the large electric SUV Skoda Peaq has started

Skoda has begun mass production of its largest electric vehicle to date: the Skoda Peaq is now being manufactured at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. According to the VW subsidiary, there is already strong demand for this model.
The Peaq, named after the English word “Peak” meaning “peak,” is already Skoda’s fifth electric vehicle and one of four models in the Czech brand’s current lineup, aside from the long since discontinued Citigo iV. It is also the second new electric vehicle the brand has introduced this year. In May, the much smaller electric compact SUV Skoda Epiq made its debut.
At 4.87 meters in length, the Peaq exceeds the Enyaq by over 20 centimeters – and starts at prices of 49,990 euros. It also features a wheelbase of 2.97 meters, providing ample space for five passengers and, at an additional cost, seven, as we reported in our preview of its world premiere.
With the start of mass production at the plant in Mladá Boleslav, Skoda now cites “great customer interest” in this new flagship model. Specifically, nearly 8,500 orders for the Skoda Peaq had been received by the end of July.
Andreas Dick, responsible for production and logistics at Škoda Auto, said about the start of production: “The new Škoda Peaq represents the pinnacle of our model range in terms of comfort, space, and technology. Moreover, its production meets the strictest standards regarding quality, efficiency, and flexibility.”
In addition to the Peaq, three other models are produced in this facility: the Octavia Combi with a combustion engine, which remains the brand’s mainstream model, as well as the electric vehicles Enyaq (available since 2020) and Elroq (available since January 2025).

"Producing four models — three of them fully electric — on a single production line clearly demonstrates the expertise and versatility of our team in Mladá Boleslav. Thanks to the tremendous effort of all our colleagues in making the necessary adjustments, we are well prepared for the production of our new flagship vehicle," says Andreas Dick.
Since May of this year, the Octavia Combi has also been produced at the Kvasiny plant. “This move has freed up capacity at the Mladá Boleslav plant for the increasingly popular electric vehicles, which accounted for nearly 23 percent of all Škoda vehicles produced at Czech plants in the first half of 2026,” the company notes. Additionally, Skoda can now respond promptly to market demand and disruptions in global supply chains by flexibly adjusting the production mix between Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny.
As is common in the industry, the first units produced by the Skoda Peaq are likely to go to dealers rather than directly to customers. They are needed as display models in showrooms and for test drives. As a result, the dealer debut, including the first test drives by potential buyers, is likely to take place in the second half of September. First deliveries to customers are expected around November or December, though Skoda has not yet provided a specific date. So-called blind orders for the vehicle have been possible since June — “blind” because orderers were not able to see the Skoda Peaq in person beforehand. The first 8,500 orders mentioned earlier refer to this process.
