Signs of life from the Energica planet! What is about to happen?

Two events between late October and EICMA week have reignited interest in Energica. After the crisis and change of ownership, it’s time to see how its revival will take shape.

Following the darkest period in its history, this Modenese brand is once again inviting customers and the press to discuss its future. There are two events scheduled: on October 28 in San Francisco and on November 4 in Milan, during EICMA week. The theme chosen for the Italian event is already a statement of intent: “Back on the Road,” back on the streets. What remains to be determined is with what motorcycles, what industrial structure, and most importantly, within what timeframe.

The crisis of 2024 and the subsequent transition to new investors have raised many questions, ranging from the causes to the solutions found. Now there is good news for those who have followed Energica’s journey and for those who purchased one of its motorcycles, as answers regarding the brand’s future and support services are now available. The liquidation took place in October 2024; the acquisition by Singaporean investors was then confirmed in 2025.

What will we discover?

The first event, “Motor Valley to Silicon Valley,” will take place on Wednesday, October 28, at the Italian Consulate General in San Francisco. This gathering is aimed at owners and motorcycle riders in the Bay Area, who will have the opportunity to meet Energica US’s team and learn about its programs. The United States is a very important market for Energica, and it’s no coincidence that the journey starts there. Participants were asked to arrive on their own Energicas if possible, so as to gather the motorcycles in front of the Consulate. This is a practical way to build on the community the manufacturer has developed over the years.

One week later, it will be Milan’s turn. The invitation sent to the editorial office sets the date for Wednesday, November 4th, in the Isola district. It’s a private event by invitation, separate from the fair activities; the program includes a meeting with the team guiding Energica through its new phase and an overview of the direction the brand will take. There is no explicit announcement of new model introductions, and it would be too early to expect such things.

The goal of returning to manufacturing and selling motorcycles had already been outlined. Now it’s necessary to determine where and when this will happen. In September 2025, Stefano Benatti proposed a roadmap starting with the restoration of spare parts and support services, progressing to the production of the product line and rebuilding business relationships. At that time, there was also mention of the intention to maintain production and development in Italy. This point may raise some eyebrows, but it will be clarified in upcoming meetings.

The available information points to Singapore, with no evidence suggesting manufacturing will take place in India. It will be interesting to see how tasks will be distributed and what role Modena will play in the new structure.

Which Energica Will Return to the Roads?

The most interesting question is: which Energica will return to the roads? A high-performance electric motorcycle manufacturer with the ambition to continue advancing technology? Or a brand ready to expand its audience through different products and pricing strategies? For now, these are scenarios to explore, as there isn’t enough information to determine a clear choice for the new owners.

San Francisco and Milan will provide opportunities to start getting these answers. For now, let’s enjoy the fact that Energica is still around!
