Schall-E rents battery-powered fast chargers from ELMI Power
Schall-E becomes a new distribution partner for ELMI Power. The provider of location-independent charging infrastructure and battery storage is adding ELMI Power’s battery-powered fast charging systems to its portfolio. These mobile solutions can be used, among other things, as a temporary solution during construction periods or for events.

ELMI Power was founded in 2024 and has from the start focused on battery-powered charging stations as buffer storage solutions, based in the Niddatal region of Hesse near Frankfurt am Main. These stations operate independently of unreliable and expensive medium-voltage connections. In April 2025, the startup completed its seed funding round led by Sequoia China/HongShan, as ELMI Power has a Chinese CEO named James Xu and a second headquarters in Shanghai.
Schall-E is similarly new to the market: founded two years ago, it is not an independent company but a new business unit of Kaiser Showtechnik. This Augsburg-based company, which specializes in events, recognized the need for mobile charging stations and battery storage systems and developed a new business model around renting such technologies.
The new partnership between the two companies aims to meet the growing demand for rental charging hardware for electric trucks and cars. As a result, Schall-E is now renting ELMI Power’s battery-backed fast charging systems across Germany. The systems offered are based on ELMI Power’s three-tier modular system: starting with the All-in-One unit AiO 360, which features two CCS2 connectors, 360 kW charging capacity, and an integrated battery storage of 189 kWh; followed by the battery-buffered Hub 400 with a gantry portal; and ending with the Hub-600 solution, which offers up to 1.2 MW charging capacity for large fleets.
ELMI Power relies on batteries in all of its fast chargers
All of ELMI Power’s systems share one fundamental principle: a battery storage unit buffers peak charging demands, so a regular power connection is sufficient — no foundation, grid expansion, or construction permits are required. These systems are installed on existing yard or business power connections, are typically ready for use within a few weeks, and can be dismantled without leaving any physical traces. The rental fee is monthly and cancellable.
The charging infrastructure from ELMI Power rented by Schall-E can be used to cover construction delays, test a location before making a final investment, for events, at rented locations without the ability to build infrastructure, or as a temporary solution at secondary sites, according to how the companies describe their various applications.

Renting with its own logic and logistics
"Our systems are designed for flexible use — but leasing is a separate business with its own logistics, setup expertise, and customer relationships," adds Stefan Hahn, Director Product at ELMI Power. "With Schall-E, we have a partner that can handle this exactly and is already experienced in temporary plant construction. Through Schall-E, we reach customers who want to load on a short-term basis, for specific projects, or as a test, without having to invest in a permanent installation right away."
Interested companies can schedule a free site assessment through Schall-E. A technician will inspect the existing power connection and available space on-site and recommend the appropriate installation level. The partnership is not exclusive, as Schall-E also offers charging stations from other providers such as Alpitronic, Designwerk, or Elli. Meanwhile, ELLI Power also has additional distribution partners.
