Sandero vs Tesla M3, on a Turin-Bari trip

Sandero vs Tesla M3

"Dear Electric Vehicle Enthusiast, I want to bring to your attention yet another misleading video about electric vehicles posted on YouTube. It compares a Dacia Sandero GPL with a Tesla Model 3. A car with 300 horsepower and 4.7 meters in length versus another with just over 4 meters and slightly more than 100 horsepower, used for a trip of 1,000 kilometers from Bari to Turin. In other words, it’s as if a BMW Series 3 were being compared to a Sandero GPL. The video makes no mention of driving comfort, and it also fails to address what everyone knows about traveling in electric vehicles. The advantage isn’t in long trips, but rather in daily commutes for those who can charge at home. Best regards, Marco di Paola"

Criticizing electric vehicles is a national sport...

Answer. One thing is certain: talking negatively about electric cars generates a lot of views on social media. It’s no coincidence that hundreds of videos and articles appear, aiming to prove what the video in question shows. It actually compares apples to pears. And it takes a lot of time to get off the highway in search of Tesla Superchargers, when it would be perfectly possible to charge on the highway using Free to X stations (though they are more expensive). It’s unclear why then the comparison of final costs—78 euros with the GPL car versus 85 euros with the Tesla—is made over different distances. The trip there was 1,012 km. On the return, in a Sandero, it was 977 km. And as Paolo correctly writes, they are two very different cars in terms of performance, driving comfort, size, weight... What are we even talking about?
