Salzburg AG opens charging hub for cars and trucks in Eugendorf

With the opening of a new charging hub in Eugendorf, Austria, Salzburg AG is expanding its fast-charging infrastructure with its largest charging park to date. The site features eight charging stations with capacities of 480 and 600 kW — including charging points for electric trucks and motorhome trailers for the first time.

Salzburg AG announces that fast charging stations with a total capacity of up to 1.4 megawatts are now available right at the exit for Wallersee on Austria’s West Autobahn (A1). Eight fast charging stations have been installed there. Six of them offer a charging capacity of up to 480 kW each, while the other two provide up to 600 kW. According to the project managers, construction was completed in about four months.

A special feature is that in addition to passenger cars, electric trucks or motorhomes can also charge at this charging hub in Eugendorf. This is because two specially designated parking spaces are available for these vehicles, which allow them to pass through.

"With the new charging hub in Eugendorf, we are creating a high-performance offering at a location of particular importance for traffic. Expanding fast-charging infrastructure is a key component in supporting the growing demand for electric mobility in the state of Salzburg," says Michael Baminger, spokesperson for the board of Salzburg AG. Alone in 2026, the company advanced the development of its public charging infrastructure with investments of around 6 million euros.

As for hardware, the new hub in Eugendorf is equipped with chargers from Alpitronic. These include units of the Hypercharger HYC1000 with correspondingly slim poles, along with charging technology housed in adjacent cabinets. Two battery storage systems from M-TEC are also visible. This suggests that the entire charging ecosystem is a battery-based solution.
