Electric vehicle market in Poland. PEVO data for September 2026

As of the end of September 2026, the total fleet of fully electric vehicles on Polish roads numbered 166,579 units, of which over 152,000 were passenger cars. However, the electric vehicle market in Poland is facing a temporary slowdown in sales of new vehicles, although it has seen breakthrough progress in the development of charging infrastructure, where DC charging stations have surpassed slower AC chargers for the first time.

In short:

As of the end of September 2026, there were 166,579 fully electric vehicles (BEVs) on Polish roads.

The electric vehicle market in Poland accounted for 6.1% of new passenger car registrations in September 2026.

The number of publicly available charging stations increased to 13,936, with fast DC stations making up the majority (51%) for the first time in history.

The bestseller of the month remains the Tesla Model Y, with 460 registered units.

Interest in electric vehicles is growing on the used market – listings account for 1% of the supply but generate 2.4% of all views on OTOMOTO.

PEVO and new car registrations: declining momentum and Tesla’s dominance.

According to the latest Polish EV Outlook Index (PEVO Index) prepared by PSNM, F5A, and OTOMOTO, the fleet of electric passenger cars has grown to 152,768 units, representing a 49% year-on-year increase. However, September saw a significant cooling down in the new car market. 3,406 new electric passenger cars were registered, marking a 23% decline compared to the same month last year.

The share of electric cars in the new passenger vehicle market was 6.1% in September, down from 8.9% the previous year. Experts note that after the end of subsidies in mid-year, Poland’s electric vehicle market entered a period of natural adjustment. According to the report’s authors, zero-emission commercial and heavy-duty vehicle fleets are showing stable and strong growth, rising to 13,811 units with a dynamic year-on-year increase of 68%.

Among the most popular models of new passenger BEVs in September, the leader remains the same. Tesla Model Y took first place with 460 registered units. Tesla Model 3 came in second with 209 registrations, while Toyota C-HR+ finished third with 180 units. In terms of brands, Tesla, Toyota, and Audi sold the most cars.

A breakthrough in infrastructure: DC fast chargers are gaining prominence

Significant changes are occurring in the charging station sector, where Poland’s electric vehicle market has reached a notable turning point. According to PSNM data, as of the end of September 2026, there were 13,936 public charging stations in the country. It’s worth noting that at the end of February 2026, there were 12,311 such stations, with AC stations accounting for 53% of them. By September, this ratio had completely reversed — now fast DC chargers make up 51% (7,113 stations), while AC stations account for 49% (6,823 stations).

A significant expansion of the multi-motorway infrastructure facilitates long-distance travel. Along the trans-European transport network TEN-T, drivers already have access to 1,946 charging points. Geographically, the capital remains the leader—with 955 publicly available charging points in Warsaw. The next cities in the ranking are Gdańsk (461), Poznań (438), Kraków (390), and Szczecin and Wrocław (both with 369 points).

Second-hand market: lower supply, but twice as much interest

Interesting insights come from an OTOMOTO portal analysis of used electric vehicles. By the end of September 2026, there were 3,769 listings for used BEVs on the site, indicating a 13% year-on-year decline in supply. Although electric vehicles account for exactly 1.0% of all used car listings, they generate as many as 2.4% of the site’s total page views. This figure is twice as high as it was a year ago, showing that Polish drivers are increasingly seeking used electric cars.

The average prices for the most popular second-hand models are as follows:

Tesla Model 3: 163 listings, average price of 115,844 PLN

Nissan Leaf: 158 listings, average price at 53,897 PLN

Tesla Model Y: 130 listings, average price reaching 138,652 PLN

Where is Polish electromobility heading?

The latest data show that the electric vehicle market in Poland is in a mature phase of transformation. A temporary slowdown in registration numbers following changes to support programs is an expected phenomenon, yet the rapid growth of commercial fleets and the development of DC fast charging networks are laying a solid foundation for further progress in e-mobility.
