Mass production of the Volkswagen ID. Cross has begun, with prices starting at 158,290 PLN for the 55 (52) kWh version.

Production has begun in Navarre, Spain, for the fourth model in the series built on the MEB+ FWD platform, namely the VW ID. Cross. Earlier, Volkswagen announced that it had started manufacturing the Cupra Raval, VW ID. Polo (Martorell, Spain), and Skoda Epiq (Navarre). The first three vehicles have gained such popularity that orders are estimated at around 100,000 units. The waiting time for the VW ID. Polo is already in double digits measured in months — those who order it now won’t receive it until mid-2027 at the earliest.

Volkswagen ID. Cross, the last to join the lineup

All the cars listed belong to the B segment, are all powered by the same APP290 engine in the front axle, but limited via software to different power outputs (85 kW/116 HP, 99 kW/135 HP, or 155 kW/211 HP). All of them enter the market first in the most powerful non-GTI version with 155 kW/211 HP, equipped with a 55 (51.5) kWh Li-NCM battery and better features. Lower engine power options are reserved for batteries with a 38.5 (37.5) kWh LFP capacity. The same applies to the VW ID. Cross; the mid-tier Life version with 155 kW and a 55 (51.5) kWh battery costs 158,290 Polish zlotys (configurator HERE).

The VW ID. Cross has the same wheelbase as the VW ID. Polo, but it is longer and taller, with a trunk that, along with the space under the floor, holds 475 liters according to VDA standards. The Life 52 kWh version (Volkswagen provides rounded net battery capacities) has a WLTP range of 426 units, approximately 364 kilometers for urban or city-suburban driving, around 256 kilometers at a speed of 120 km/h with the battery depleted to zero [preliminary calculations by Elektrowozu’s editorial team]. Standard features include 18-inch aluminum wheels, gray-black interior trim, seats with manual height adjustment, a phone wireless charger, adaptive cruise control, white ambient lighting, an audio system with 6 speakers, and reading lights at the back (which are not always available in the B segment…).

We can opt for additional features such as heated front seats (Winter Package, +1,840 zł), matrix headlights (+5,780 zł), or the Innovision Pro navigation system for 3,110 złotys, which can determine routes with charging stops and retrieve traffic information from the manufacturer’s servers.

The Volkswagen ID. Cross in the Style version, starting at 172,190 Polish zlotys, comes standard with features such as heated front seats, matrix adaptive headlights, and colored ambient lighting. Buyers can choose between a dark or light gray interior (at no extra cost), but they will need to pay additional fees for a 360-degree camera with automatic parking, navigation, or massage functions, which dangerously brings the price of the VW ID.
