Recharging hospitality is becoming increasingly easy

Recharging in hospitality is becoming increasingly easy: eviaggio.it continues to monitor and report on this service, as its founder, Nicola Carlon, explains here.

by Nicola Carlon

Eager about my nomination for the Vaielettrico Awards, I have taken eviaggio.it to the next level over these months. Although I didn’t win, the experience gave me the motivation to improve further, with hopes for next year!

Recharging in hospitality: 1.2 million foreign tourists!

This summer, after seeing numerous electric cars with foreign license plates visiting our country, I thought it was the right time to enable English on the website and activate the eviaggio.eu domain. The excellent presentation by Repower at the TTG in Rimini, titled “Electric Mobility in Hospitality,” confirmed this by presenting these figures:

Rising electric cars: 101,000 registrations between January and September 2026, accounting for 7.9% of the total (compared to 3.7% in 2022).

Electric tourism: In the summer of 2026, 1.2 million foreign tourists arrived in Italy using an electric car.

Those who make the choice look for specific services: 83.8% of EV drivers check whether a facility has charging options.

Focusing on the Numbers at TTG and InOut in Rimini

TTG and InOut in Rimini is an excellent platform for understanding charging trends in hospitality venues. Uattzy also held a dedicated panel this year. The consistent presence of Sagelio, Mennekes, Scame, and PlusEV Charge at the fair confirms there is interest in this topic. These days we have over 4,000 destinations on our list, thanks to various partnerships with CPOs, installers, charging station manufacturers, and marketing agencies specializing in hospitality. And of course, thanks to the EViaggio community as well. Sponsorships have allowed us to invest in technical aspects: the Android and iOS apps are being updated. The portal has also seen several improvements in usability, indexing, and overall responsiveness. The search filters are now much more effective, enabling users to select venues more easily.

that offer free charging or by filtering them by price range (when indicated).

Charging in hospitality: fixed price vs. cost per kWh

In addition, it’s now possible to view only those destinations verified by operators, whose data is more reliable. We’ve also expanded the statistics pages with a focus on prices. Most destinations listed still use fixed pricing. However, those with prices per kWh are increasing, as charging stations become smarter and make billing easier. Finally, we cross-referenced our data with information on tourist attractions and public charging stations (PUNs). An interactive map is available to help locate areas where a lodging establishment with charging stations would be highly valued, either because few hotels offer the same service in the vicinity or due to a shortage of public charging stations in some areas. EViaggio is free for property managers who can have their own page on the site.

. This is our strength, what sets us apart from other column search apps: involving the operator to obtain accurate and up-to-date information.
