Moldova presents its national eMobility roadmap

Moldova has established a national eMobility program with a target date of 2030. In it, the government sets out the goals of expanding the charging network to 600 public charging points by the end of the decade and electrifying 15 percent of the vehicle fleet.

Moldova is an inland country covering about 34 square kilometers with a population of just under 3 million. The government of this small republic has now submitted a document to advance electrification in Moldova. It includes guidelines for the national charging network, incentive mechanisms, and target values.

The roadmap also specifies that by 2030, electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids should account for at least 15 percent of the country’s total vehicle fleet. Road traffic CO2 emissions are expected to decrease by at least 15 percent as well (compared to 2025). To achieve this, the government plans to attract investors and create an environment for developing services for electric vehicles as well as training skilled personnel.

We are aware that the Republic of Moldova is part of Europe’s TEN-T transport network. In this context, we will introduce a legal framework and an implementation program based on this plan, said Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
