Renault Scenic E-Tech: 89-kWh battery for up to 632 km range
Renault has updated the Scenic E-Tech electrically, offering an 89-kWh battery with a WLTP range of up to 632 kilometers, along with a 67-kWh LFP battery that will be available later. Both versions are said to charge about 25 percent faster at fast chargers.

Renault has refreshed the Scenic E-Tech for the new model year. The focus is on two new battery options: an NMC battery with 89 kWh providing a WLTP range of up to 632 kilometers, and a LFP battery with 67 kWh that will be added later. Both versions are expected to charge about 25 percent faster at DC fast chargers than before. There are also changes to the assistance systems, infotainment, and interior design. Prices for the updated Scenic start at 37,590 euros.
Powertrain, Battery, and Range
The powertrain remains unchanged: the electric motor at the front axle still delivers 160 kW (218 hp). The motor is manufactured at Renault’s plant in Cléon, Normandy. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle weighs around 1,900 kilograms and is 4.47 meters long. Renault reports a combined fuel consumption of 16.6 to 17.3 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The new addition is the Long-Range version equipped with an 89 kWh NMC battery. With this battery, the Scenic achieves a range of up to 632 kilometers according to WLTP standards. As a second option, Renault is introducing the Comfort-Range version with a 67 kWh LFP battery, which is scheduled to launch at a later date not yet specified. It offers a range of up to 459 kilometers per WLTP standard.
The LFP battery is already known from the Megane E-Tech electric vehicle. Renault uses a cell-to-pack design with 232 pouch cells that are installed directly in the battery housing without traditional modules. The manufacturer reports a packing efficiency of 53 percent. Compared to NMC, LFP chemistry is considered cheaper and more durable, but it offers a lower energy density. The batteries are assembled at the Douai plant, with the cells coming from Poland.

Charging power and charging times
At DC fast chargers, the 89-kWh version can charge at up to 150 kW. According to Renault, it takes 28 minutes to go from 15 percent to 80 percent charge. Since the maximum charging power does not increase, the improvement is likely due to a flatter charging curve.
The LFP version charges at up to 165 kW and takes 24 minutes for the same charge level. Renault claims a 25 percent reduction in charging time here as well. For AC charging, onboard chargers of 11 or 22 kW are still available, supporting two-way charging.
With Google Maps integration in the OpenR Link infotainment system, charging stations along routes can now be filtered by provider, charging capacity, or payment method.
Aid systems and infotainment
The standard adaptive cruise control and the Active Driver Assist, available depending on the trim level, have been upgraded. A new multi-target function can track multiple vehicles simultaneously to detect oncoming, turning, or braking vehicles earlier. It also responds more quickly to brief lane departures and works up to 70 km/h. The emergency stop assist brakes the car to a halt if the driver fails to react. A Predictive Eco Driving Assistant uses map data on curves, roundabouts, and intersections to help reduce fuel consumption by up to six percent.
The Multi-Sense driving mode system now includes a Smart Mode that automatically switches between Eco, Comfort, and Sport depending on driving style. All versions also get an interior camera for monitoring the driver to detect fatigue and distraction. Renault uses it for driver recognition as well, to automatically adjust seat position, navigation, or ambient lighting.
In terms of infotainment, in addition to Google Assistant, the AI assistant Google Gemini is now available as an option. For online services, 2 GB of data per month is included for three years, or until the end of a leasing contract with Mobilize Financial Services. Another new feature is a wireless charging pad based on the Qi2 standard.
Interior, Colors, and Accessories
In the Techno version, the seats and dashboard are covered with a new fabric that consists of over 95 percent recycled yarn. The seats are also designed to provide better side support. The Esprit Alpine line features new trim pieces with at least 75 percent recycled content, while the Iconic version comes with a new gray decorative panel.
Seven paint finishes are available, including the new shades Slate Blue Satin and Mineral Gray. New 19-inch and 20-inch wheels are also offered. The accessories include a dual trunk floor, storage solutions for the second row, pet gear, and a tow hitch carrier that expands the 545-liter trunk by an additional 310 liters. The Scenic continues to be manufactured at Renault’s plant in Douai; according to Renault, the vehicle qualifies for Europe’s battery bonus program.
