Renault Rafale hybrid rechargeable: a limited edition – Hypnotic chic… and expensive

Renault has added a new version to the top of the Rafale range. Named Hypnotic, this limited edition of 1,500 units retains the 300 hp rechargeable hybrid engine from the Atelier Alpine model, but focuses especially on its styling and equipment. In France, its price starts at 63,550 €.
Renault clearly believes there is still room at the top of the Rafale range. Above the Atelier Alpine, which already costs over 60,000 €, is the Hypnotic. There’s no additional engine, no improved range, and no new performance features: this limited edition of 1,500 units emphasizes exclusivity above all else.

A Rafale that sees everything in black
The change is immediately noticeable. The Rafale Hypnotic features a unique “satin forest black” color, paired with a darkened grille, satin-finish 21-inch wheels, and several glossy black elements. The two spoilers on the roof and trunk follow this design theme, as does the Atelier Alpine badge.
The interior is only slightly more colorful. Renault uses a seating fabric that combines black titanium Alcantara with coated textile, accented with blue, white, and red stitching. There is also Alcantara on the upper part of the dashboard, and a plaque indicates the serial number of each of the 1,500 units produced for Europe.
3,300 € more than the Atelier Alpine version
The manufacturer mainly uses this to include several features as standard equipment. The Solarbay tinted panoramic roof, head-up display, heated windshield, and Harman Kardon audio system are among the included items. This is partly to justify the requested price of 63,550 euros, compared to 60,250 euros for the Rafale Atelier Alpine.
Under the hood, nothing has changed. The Hypnotic retains its 300 hp rechargeable hybrid powertrain, consisting of an internal combustion engine and three electric motors. Its 22 kWh battery still allows for an electric range of up to 105 km. All-wheel drive, 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering, and suspension controlled by a predictive camera remain standard as well.
