Range Rover Electric: The most luxurious electric SUV on the market arrives with a range of 600 km

The Range Rover Electric, the British brand’s first fully electric model, is now here. Aesthetically, there are hardly any changes compared to the model with a internal combustion engine; however, underneath the surface everything is different. The new vehicle features a propulsion system consisting of two permanent magnet motors (one per axle) producing 353 HP (260 kW).

The total power of the system amounts to 550 HP (405 kW), with a torque of 850 Nm. These motors offer 20% more torque than other engines of the same size and incorporate silicon carbide semiconductors. Range Rover claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 4.5 seconds, as well as a 80 to 120 km/h recovery in 2.7 seconds.

The Intelligent Driveline Dynamics technology distributes the rear torque from 100% to 0% to prevent traction loss, while the Integrated Traction Management system controls the engine speed in 50 milliseconds to manage slipping up to 100 times faster than in a comparable internal combustion engine vehicle.

Range Rover has already opened orders for its first electric model

Orders for the Range Rover Electric are now open. It will be available in two body lengths, along with SE, HSE, Autobiography, SV, SV Ultra, and SV Black trim levels. Initially, there will also be a special launch edition called First Edition available in Belgravia Green, Santorini Black, or Varesine Blue colors.
