After FAW-Volkswagen launched pre-orders for the new Jetta M6 electric saloon at the end of September 2026, the all-electric model is now officially available in China. To mark its market launch, the manufacturer has slightly reduced the original starting price that applied during the pre-order phase.
The M6 is available on the Chinese market in three trim levels. The base model, 465 Pro, now starts at 79,800 yuan ( ~€10,700 euros), which is 1,000 yuan (~€134 euros) lower than the pre-order price announced in September. The mid-range and high-end trims, 555 Max and 555 Ultra, are priced at 89,800 yuan (~€12,000 euros) and 99,800 yuan (~€13,350 euros), respectively. Additionally, Jetta is offering customer packages worth 26,000 yuan (~€3,475 euros) at launch, including benefits such as an extended warranty, trade-in discounts, and data allowances, according to _CNEVPost_.
Electric saloon with two powertrain options
Measuring 4.81 metres in length, 1.87 metres in width, and 1.50 metres in height, the M6 is based on Jetta’s Jiesi electric architecture. It features a wheelbase of 2.8 metres and a kerb weight ranging from 1,557 kg to 1,628 kg. The saloon is front-wheel drive.
The base model, 465 Pro, delivers 113 kW of power, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 166 km/h. Its 42.9-kWh battery provides a range of 465 km according to China’s CLTC standard.
The 555 Max and 555 Ultra variants feature a 145-kW motor, reducing the 0–100 km/h sprint to 6.8 seconds and increasing the top speed to 172 km/h. Their 51.9-kWh battery enables a CLTC range of up to 555 km.
The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells are supplied by Chinese manufacturer CALB, while the battery assembly takes place directly at the FAW-Volkswagen plant in Chengdu (southwest China). According to the manufacturer, charging from 30 to 80 per cent at fast-charging stations takes 25 minutes. The M6 also comes with a heat pump and a 3.5-kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for powering external devices as standard.

Reclining function for longer breaks
Inside, the Jetta M6 features a minimalist, button-free layout. Behind the steering wheel, there is an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, while a central 15.6-inch touchscreen with 2.5K resolution dominates the dashboard. The infotainment system integrates Chinese voice AI and offers smartphone connectivity.
A standout feature is the seating functionality: the front seats can be fully reclined flat to create a level sleeping surface together with the rear bench. This so-called double-bed configuration, typically found in larger SUVs for outdoor activities, is designed to make charging breaks more comfortable in the M6.
While all models come with basic features such as automatic emergency braking, cruise control, and automated parking, the top-of-the-line 555 Ultra includes a camera-based system powered by Horizon Robotics’ Journey 6M chip. This enables City and Highway NOA (Navigation on Autopilot), memory parking, and an automatic reverse assistant. For first-time owners of these NOA variants, Jetta also covers insurance for accidents caused by assisted driving during private use in the first year.
