Porsche increases charging power to 22 kW for the Macan.

The upcoming model change for the Porsche Macan is reflected in its AC charging ports: the electric SUV comes standard with a 22-kW onboard charger in its top variants, GTS and Turbo. In all other versions, this feature is now available as an option. Additionally, Porsche has introduced a business package.

With the model year change, Porsche says it has combined particularly popular options for its all-electric SUV into a new package available for the Macan, Macan 4, and Macan 4S models. This “Business Package” costs 5,990.46 euros gross in Germany for the Macan and Macan 4, and 5,299.07 euros for the Macan 4S, with Porsche noting that “depending on the model, there is a price savings of up to 45 percent compared to ordering all package options separately.” However, the company does not state whether there will be any changes to the Macan’s price list overall. A previous inquiry from electrive also remained unanswered. Currently, the starting price for this model series in the configurator is 82,200 euros.

In detail, the new package includes a panoramic roof system, matrix LED headlamps, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors, as well as an exterior color of choice from the “Contrasts” and “Shades” categories. For the interior, the Business Package offers special comfort seats, the Leather Package in black, and a Bose sound system. In terms of suspension, it includes power steering Plus and adaptive air suspension with level control and height adjustment, along with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

Regardless of this, Porsche has increased the standard AC charging capacity for its two top-tier models, the Macan GTS and Macan Turbo: thanks to a 22-kW on-board charger now standard from the factory, charging at public chargers or a compatible wall box is “significantly faster.” Porsche does not specify a precise reduction in charging time from 10 to 100 percent. It is clear, however, that this standard AC charging upgrade does not apply to the Macan, Macan 4, and Macan 4S versions. These models continue to support a maximum charging power of 11 kW, although 22 kW is available as an optional extra for these models starting with the new model year.

The model updates for the Macan also include several other details: Going forward, certain comfort and assistance features will be added to the standard equipment of this all-electric SUV across all variants. These include not only the adaptive cruise control but also automated parking with a 2D surround view. “The system independently detects parking spaces between and in front of objects. The turn signal is activated automatically, and the vehicle handles the parking process in both longitudinal and transverse spaces, as well as exiting from longitudinal spaces,” explains Porsche.

Additional parking features such as Remote Park Assist, which allows parking maneuvers to be controlled via smartphone among other methods, are available as options. Additionally, the smartphone can now be charged in the Macan much faster than before: the dedicated holder in the center console, including wireless charging, now provides a charging power of up to 25 watts—compared to 15 watts previously.

Incidentally, the Macan is now a pure electric vehicle within Porsche’s lineup. This is because production of the Macan with an internal combustion engine ceased in July. A new gasoline-powered successor has not been announced until 2028.
