At 18,720€, 4.99 meters long, and capable of covering 400 km in 11 minutes: this is Geely’s new electric car that 20,000 Chinese people are awaiting

Geely has practically everything ready to launch one of its most important electric cars in 2026. The new Galaxy TT will officially enter the Chinese market on September 10th, following a pre-order phase that began on August 13th with three rear-wheel-drive versions priced between 145,900 and 169,900 yuan, which is approximately equivalent to 18,720 and 21,800 euros at current exchange rates.

On August 28th, Geely Galaxy announced that pre-orders had already exceeded 20,000 units. And this isn’t exactly a small car: the TT is an electric sedan with a length of 4,999 mm that aims to compete with models such as the Xiaomi SU7 or Xpeng P7+, among others, by offering an 800-volt architecture, a CATL battery with a 6C charging rate, and a range of up to 640 kilometers.

Nearly 5 meters long with up to 333 HP of power

The new Galaxy TT measures exactly 4,999 mm in length, 1,919 mm in width, and 1,479 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Geely has opted for a highly aerodynamic fastback body design, featuring a drag coefficient of just 0.22 cx. It also includes an active electric spoiler at the rear with three positions.

This latter model can reach a maximum inclination of 22.5 degrees and generate up to 508 N of aerodynamic load. The rear-wheel drive range uses a single electric motor with 245 kW, equivalent to 333 horsepower, while its various configurations offer ranges of 540 or 640 kilometers under the Chinese CLTC cycle. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.2 seconds and 6.5 seconds respectively.

There is also a significantly more powerful Galaxy TT Ultra. This version was previously on pre-order for 209,800 yuan, around 26,900 euros, initially limited to 999 units. It features two motors and all-wheel drive, producing a combined power of 425 kW, around 578 horsepower, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.

Over 400 km of range restored in 11 minutes

One of the Galaxy TT’s key strengths lies beneath its chassis. CATL has developed a specialized battery called the Shenxing TT for this model, which uses LFP chemistry and features NP 3.0 thermal protection technology. All versions also come standard with an 800-volt electrical architecture.

The battery supports a charging rate of up to 6C, and Geely claims that just 11 minutes connected to a sufficiently powerful charger is enough to restore over 400 kilometers of range. This figure is particularly significant given the model’s target market, and even the most affordable variants will be equipped with this technology.

The new electric vehicle also boasts advanced technology. It features a LiDAR sensor and Horizon Robotics’ J6M chip, and can be equipped with Geely’s G-ASD H7 or H5 driving assistance systems. Inside, it offers the second generation of Flyme Auto, a 10.2-inch digital dashboard, a 15.4-inch multimedia screen, and a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display. It also includes a sound system with 23 speakers and a huge 1.97 square meter panoramic glass roof. Geely is targeting young buyers in China’s competitive electric sedan market, where vehicles cost around 200,000 yuan.

Over 20,000 orders before it hits the market

The Galaxy TT will also represent a particularly significant launch for Geely in China. The group sold 270,194 vehicles during August, an 8.01% increase from the previous year and its best monthly result for 2026. However, almost all of this growth came from international markets.

Geely exported 110,094 vehicles last month, a staggering 205% year-on-year increase and accounting for approximately 41% of its total sales. This means around 160,100 units were sold in China, roughly 25% less than in August 2025. The Galaxy brand is meant to play a key role in helping the company regain ground at home: it delivered 119,115 vehicles in August, a 7.63% year-on-year increase and 10.50% higher than in July.

In that context, the Galaxy TT will arrive on September 10th. Over 20,000 Chinese buyers had already reserved it by the end of August, even before its final prices were known. On paper, Geely has strong advantages: nearly 5 meters in length, 333 horsepower from rear-wheel drive versions, up to 640 km of CLTC range, and especially an 800-volt architecture with a 6C battery capable of recovering over 400 kilometers in just 11 minutes.
