Pony.ai and Uber aim to have 2,000 robotaxis in Europe. Four more cities are on the list.

Pony.ai and Uber have announced plans to expand their robotaxi operations in Europe with a fleet of over 2,000 autonomous vehicles. The partners aim to launch services in four additional European cities, in addition to the already mentioned Zagreb.
For now, this is just a brief statement, but the scale is impressive. We’re not talking about a single pilot project, but rather a plan for multiple cities and a fleet larger than 2,000 vehicles.
The names of these four cities and the timeline for implementation have not been disclosed yet. It is only known that Zagreb will be one of the starting points for their European expansion.
For Uber, this is another step toward autonomous transportation without having to develop the entire technology from scratch. For Pony.ai, it represents an attempt to enter Europe more broadly with a solution that has so far been associated mainly with the U.S. and China.
If this plan goes ahead, Europe will have one of the largest robotaxi fleets on the continent. Here’s a question for you: which cities in Europe have the best chance of launching such services today?
