Polestar’s “Formula 2030” outlines future design directions

Polestar is teasing a concept car named Formula 2030 as part of its broader strategy for 2030. The Swedish-Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer aims to drive further growth and continue on its path toward profitability. Meanwhile, the concept is intended to give insight into the brand’s future design language while building on its established pillars of performance, technology, and sustainability.

Formula 2030 reveals the first design cues of the new Polestar 2, scheduled for launch in 2027, as well as the upcoming Polestar 7. The design team has built upon the established Scandinavian design language to develop these concepts. The exterior, interior, innovative materials, and sustainability aspects are intended to be “taken to a new level.”

Design leader Philipp Römers describes this approach as an evolution of the existing identity. “That’s why it was clear to us that what’s needed is a bold evolution, not a revolution of the current design.” Key elements such as the familiar dual-blade headlights will remain unchanged. Formula 2030 aims to demonstrate what Polestar’s future design will look like.

Before its global debut, the concept vehicle will first be presented to investors, business partners, and a select group of VIP customers. The world premiere of this showcar is scheduled for later in the year, taking place as part of the international media drive event for the Polestar 4 SUV. This latest variant in the Polestar 4 series was officially unveiled a few days ago and is already available for ordering.
