Polestar Formula 2030: This concept gives a glimpse of the brand’s future electric models

Polestar is already preparing the next generation of its electric vehicles. With the Formula 2030 concept, the Swedish brand reveals the main features of its future design language. Several elements are set to appear on the next Polestar 2 as well as on the upcoming Polestar 7 SUV.

Polestar is entering a new phase of its development. While its lineup has already expanded significantly in recent years, the manufacturer is now working on a new generation of models. The Formula 2030 concept serves as a bridge between current Polestar models and those that will arrive in a few years.

A new look for future Polestar models

For now, Polestar has revealed very little about the Formula 2030 concept. The manufacturer simply states that this concept will mark a significant evolution in its styling language, both outside and inside the vehicle. However, it won’t start from scratch. Philipp Römers, the brand’s design director, wants to retain several elements characteristic of current Polestar models.

The “Dual Blade” lighting signature, those two thin LED blades, is expected to continue playing a key role in the visual identity of future models. On the other hand, Formula 2030 aims to allow Polestar to evolve its shapes, materials, and overall approach to design. Thus, the concept will serve as a laboratory to prepare the electric vehicles that will arrive in the coming years.

The next Polestar 2 is expected in 2027

Some of these developments won’t remain at the concept stage for long. Polestar confirms that Formula 2030 previews elements of the successor to the Polestar 2, which is set to launch in 2027. The concept will also provide clues about the future Polestar 7. This compact electric SUV is expected in 2028 and holds special significance for the brand as it must be manufactured in Europe.

Before being unveiled to the general public, Formula 2030 will first be presented in Gothenburg at an event reserved for investors, distributors, and a select group of customers. Its global debut is scheduled to take place later this year. So, we will have to wait a while longer to see exactly what this new design will look like.
