Peugeot plans to start mass production of the concept cars e-T16 (pictured) and RCZ Vision. According to CEO Alain Favey, the e-T16 could hit the market as early as next year. The vehicle was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show as a preview of the next generation of the 208’s electric version, featuring its design cues and lighting signature.
The e-T16 features a 600 kW (816 HP) electric all-wheel drive system with one motor on the front axle and two electric motors on the rear axle, along with a wide body design inspired by the 205 T16. Peugeot claims the power-to-weight ratio is less than two kilograms per HP, offering 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 2.5 seconds and 0 to 300 km/h acceleration in 16 seconds.
Brand chief Favey told Autocar that the model is technically feasible due to its foundation on Stellantis’ new STLA One platform. “We have many elements from the new e-208. We can build it exactly as it is, just as you see it here. We can produce this car next year. Let’s see.”

The development of the e-T16 is supported by Peugeot Sport, which, according to Favey, reinforces the feasibility of its technical specifications. The performance figures are not just headlines but facts. A production version would serve as an exclusive, high-priced model with limited production runs.
Alongside the RCZ Coupé, the e-T16 is intended to help Peugeot enter a higher market segment. The French brand’s goal is to achieve profitable growth through sporty, design-oriented vehicles, aiming to raise annual sales from 1.1 million to 1.5 million cars.
The implementation of the RCZ Coupé relies on technologies that are not yet available today. According to Autocar, the design assumes thin, high-capacity solid-state batteries with extremely fast charging times. “This is a wishlist,” says Favey. “This is what we need, and even if it takes five or six years — we will eventually need it.”
