Opel Frontera electric: the new phenomenon in social leasing?

Opel has received over 4,300 orders for its electric Frontera as part of the social leasing program! The SUV is still available for 139 euros per month, but in limited quantities.

Each edition of the social leasing program has a clear winner. After the Peugeot e-208 in 2024 and the Renault 5 in 2025, it seems to be the Opel Frontera in 2026. Opel reported that its SUV has generated 4,300 orders since mid-July. That’s already nearly 10% of the total quota, with 50,000 units planned to be offered.

It must be said that the manufacturer went all out with this model. It was priced at just 99 euros per month—a price that’s hard to believe for an SUV that’s 4.39 meters long and thus capable of carrying a family. Sure, it came with a small 44 kWh battery and a range of 308 kilometers. But ultimately, it’s an offer comparable to that of a city car, only as a much more practical large model with features like a 460-liter trunk space.

If the manufacturer quickly removed the Corsa and Mokka from its lineup, the situation for the Frontera isn’t over yet. The brand states that the vehicle can still be ordered through social leasing, subject to available units. However, it will necessarily come with the largest 54 kWh battery, which provides a better combined range of 402 km. The vehicle remains very affordable, starting at 139 € per month for a 36-month long-term lease over 35,000 km with no down payment, the first increased installment covered by a 7,000 € social leasing subsidy.

With fuel prices reaching record highs, this is a good opportunity to switch to an electric vehicle.
