Twin Chinese brands Omoda and Jaecoo have teamed with Octopus Energy to offer customers buying any Jaecoo E5 or Omoda E5 a home charger worth £1,029, or £1,000 of public charging credit with the Octopus Electroverse public charging network.
The offer was introduced as more and more UK motorists are ditching internal combustion in favour of electric powertrains due to increasing fuel prices. At the time of writing, the RAC Fuel Watch’s 2026 October estimations found that a litre of unleaded petrol now averages out at £171.41.
For comparison, fully charging the Jaecoo or Omoda E5’s 59kWh battery using the Intelligent Octopus Go overnight tariff can cost as little as £4.48 between 11:30pm and 5:30am. Meanwhile, the Octopus Electroverse network provides access to more than 1.4 million chargers globally.
To redeem their Octopus Energy benefit, Omoda and Jaecoo customer relays their chosen offer to the dealer, who then provides them with a link to order the charger online, or redeem their charging credits via a one-time voucher code within 14 days.
The charger’s standard installation cost is free of charge, and the £1,000 Octopus Electroverse credits are instantly applied to the customer’s account.

Victor Zhang, the managing director for Omoda and Jaecoo UK’s operations said: “Choosing an electric car is only one part of moving to EV ownership; how you charge it is just as important.
“We want to give customers a useful choice from the outset, whether that means having an Octopus charger installed at home for free or putting £1,000 towards public charging through Electroverse.
“With pump prices as unpredictable as they’ve been this year, that’s real money back in drivers’ pockets. As our electric line-up grows, we’re continuing to look at the wider ownership experience and the practical things that can make running an EV easier day to day.”
Octopus Energy’s director of electrification, Alex Schoch, added: “With fossil fuel prices hitting record highs, going electric gives drivers real savings and peace of mind from the pump price rollercoaster.
“And charging couldn’t be easier, whether you plug in at home overnight or tap into public charging with Electroverse. This offer gives drivers a head start on cheaper, simpler electric driving.”
The Omoda E5 is priced from £33,065 in entry-level Knight trim, and can travel up to 267 miles on a single charge. Meanwhile, the Jaecoo E5 starts at £27,505 for the base-spec Pure car. The latter’s range is slightly less at 248 miles.
The offer is available until 31 March, 2027. All Jaecoo and Omoda models are covered by a seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty, as well as eight years, or 100,000 miles’ worth of battery coverage.
