It seems that with the end of holidays, manufacturers are refining their offerings to boost sales, especially for SUVs. This has happened with Geely, which is offering its plug-in hybrid SUV with a range of 1,000 km for 25,125 €, and MG, which is responding with another PHEV SUV starting at 24,540 €. It has also happened with BYD, though not with their SUVs this time, but rather with a plug-in hybrid that offers over 1,500 km of range for less than 26,000 €.
Who offers the most (or at least as much)? It’s Ebro: the legendary brand based in Spain, specifically in Barcelona, is extending its “Días EBRO” event until September 21st. During this time, all of its plug-in hybrid SUVs—the s700 PHEV, the s800 PHEV, and the s900 PHEV—read our review—are on sale with a discount of 1,000 € off their regular price.

While rumors swirl about Seat’s future—what will happen to its employees?—and the success of the latest CUPRA model is celebrated—as “I’ve never seen anything like it in 30 years”—EBRO has already reached 30,000 sales in Spain in just 20 months since its return to the market.
This is excellent news for this brand that manufactures in Spain, as it now introduces the “EBRO Days,” during which you can take home an EBRO plug-in hybrid or PHEV SUV starting at 25,990 €. This is the current price—after discounts and incentives—for its best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV, the s700 PHEV, which we already tested in Híbridosyeléctricos.
We’re talking about an SUV that is 4.55 meters long, with a wheelbase of 2.67 meters and a trunk capacity of 500 liters — measured up to the roof; including the cargo tray, it offers around 370 liters, which increases to up to 1,305 liters when the rear seats are folded down, still measured up to the roof.
Mechanically, this SUV priced at 25,990 € and manufactured in Barcelona is equipped with a plug-in hybrid engine that combines a 1.5 L turbocharged four-cylinder internal combustion engine producing 143 hp and 215 Nm, along with two electric motors: one that functions as a generator and another that drives the front wheels, delivering 204 hp and 310 Nm. In total, this results in a combined power output of 279 hp, sufficient to propel this Spanish-made SUV to 180 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.
This powertrain is paired with an 18.3 kWh LFP battery, which provides a 90 km range on pure electric power and a total range of 1,200 km. In hybrid mode, as reported in our test, it’s easy to keep fuel consumption below 6.0 L/100 km or even lower when driving on the highway.
