New Hyundai Ioniq 3: PRICE actually starts at 119,900 Polish zlotys, but that’s for a smaller battery. Wish it sold poorly!

The Hyundai Ioniq 3, a B-segment hatchback competing with the VW ID. Polo, has a list price of 125,900 złoty, but it’s available at an introductory price of 119,900 złoty. It features a battery with a capacity of ~44 (42.2) kWh and an range of just 344 WLTP units. The version with a larger battery of ~64 (61) kWh and a range up to 488 WLTP units starts at 155,400 złoty, but is 3,000 złoty cheaper during the launch phase, priced at 152,400 złoty. That’s all regarding affordable prices.

Hyundai Ioniq 3: A Price That Promotes Gas-Powered Cars

Hyundai’s Polish branch seems to be aiming to boost sales of gas-powered models by comparing them to the extremely expensive electric cars alongside them. “We have a promotion on the i20 here, because you’ll see how much this Ioniq 3, an electric car, costs”:

The N-Line Evo version at this price is such an absurd product that it’s hard to know what to write about it. And note: this is by no means the version that has everything! We have to pay an additional 4,900 zlotys for electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats! There are also extra costs for a black roof, a glass roof, and an AC-DC 22 kW onboard charger — the latter is somewhat justified in theory, though it’s a shame it costs 7,200 zlotys. Within the same group, Kia adds a 22 kW onboard charger for 6,000 or 3,500 zlotys (see: Kia EV4 AWD, price list).

The Hyundai Ioniq 3 is not a new model; it was built on the E-GMP 400 V platform, which is already used in the Kia EV3 and EV2. Additionally, the use of the 400 V architecture means the car should not have issues with the problematic ICCU, but it’s important to note that charging to 80 percent takes about 30 minutes. The manufacturer claims the Ioniq 3 embodies the Steel Art design language, and its interior certainly (of course!) resembles more of a “living space than a car cabin.” The interior elements are “arranged more like furniture than vehicle components.” There’s some truth to this—drivers might feel as though they’re sitting on a sofa with the back facing the sofa and the front facing the TV:

The perhaps most important feature of this model is the Pleos operating system based on Android Automotive, which is just entering the market. In addition to a built-in artificial intelligence assistant (Gleo AI), it will include a range of apps and functions that can be purchased, prompting users to happily pay a monthly subscription fee for them.

Attentive observers will notice that the Ioniq 3 displays the vehicle’s speed in two places (on the dash and in the upper left corner of the central screen). This is not a mistake; base Select models are equipped with a rearview camera and dual-zone climate control, but they lack a speedometer behind the steering wheel even in higher trims (illustration below, black interior). It only appears in the Trend trim. The Trend edition is the first available with a larger battery, coming standard with heated seats or light gray interior trim (illustration below, number 2).
