Photos of two masked Audi A2 e-tron units have appeared online. This model is built on the MEB platform and is a close relative of the VW ID.3 Neo. Even with the masking in place, it’s clear that the designers drew inspiration from the first-generation A2. Once the masking is removed using artificial intelligence, the car resembles its predecessor even more. It’s important to remember, however, that this is merely an imagined version of the car—a vision rather than its actual appearance.
Audi A2 e-tron set to debut soon
The original photo can be found at the beginning of the article and within its content. It has so many watermarks that we couldn’t determine who created them and who merely “borrowed” them. The photos altered by artificial intelligence are shown below (source):

The playfully smiling small air intakes and headlights just below the daytime running lights stand out, having been eagerly removed by artificial intelligence. The handles are small grips at the edge of the pillars, and the rear window is divided by a spoiler. As is typical for compact cars on the MEB platform, the overhangs at the front and back are short. The screen behind the steering wheel extends across the center of the car, allowing for a cockpit layout typical of larger Audis with a “wall” in that area. The underfloor is covered, and we would be surprised if a projection screen (HUD) isn’t offered as an option:

The Audi A2 impressed with its low fuel consumption in the 1.4 and 1.2 TDI versions. It would be interesting if Audi engineers drew on those principles and opted for similar optimizations in the Audi A2 e-tron. Its streamlined shape and spoiler will certainly help, and fully covering the wheels/tires would also work well—the vehicle in the photo already has minimally sized openings. The expected technical specs for the Audi A2 e-tron include APP350 engines (~140 kW/190 hp) and APP550 engines (220 kW?) in the most powerful variant, paired with 62 (58) kWh and 84 (79) kWh batteries.
The launch is scheduled for this fall, with deliveries set to begin before the end of the year. Price will determine its sales success, as there are increasingly more options in the C segment (Hyundai Ioniq 3, VW ID.3 Neo, to name a few recent models…).
